Me watching the draft: “I’m not sure about this one, might be the first miss of the class”
Me after watching the video: “HES THE NEXT DEZ BRYANT, HE AIN’T LETTING HIS MAMA DOWN”
great vibes with him and the coaching staff too on that call

The thing I really like about lane is that the tools to find his route game are absolutely there, he went higher than I expected for sure but his ball skills are actually rare. This ain’t Jaleel Scott or miles Boykin, this guy can really go up and get it like no other ravens draft pick has ever been able to, Demetrius Williams had some crazy highpoints, maybe Travis Taylor, but all in all I don’t think we’ve ever drafted a guy with raw ball skills like Lane. This applies to Sarratt as well, but since there’s more discourse on Lane, I’m posting here
But they went out and got a couple of alphas and ball getters. They don’t shy away any time the ball is in the air. They act like they’re the only ones that can get it, which I think is the biggest departure from how we’ve operated at the position in recent years. Of course Zay also fits the bill, but I think you’d be hard pressed to say we’ve had anyone else in our room aside from end of the line OBJ and DHop that has had that mindset.

I'm just so confident that he's not what the consensus seems to be on him. He'll be a good route runner. Give him a good NFL offense with an actual QB, let him run digs and slants and drag and over routes and not just 9 balls and see how his separation grades changes.
Bro seems funny charming though, not cringe like MarloThis dude has a similar goofy ass personality as Marlo lol Watch the video of the rookies seeing their jersey for the first time.
Still a little bit too much. He's a young bloke but that baby face makes him look 14.Bro seems funny charming though, not cringe like Marlo
He will. The coaches know exactly how to coach him up on his deficiencies. Let's give them a chance...very happy for that kind of outcome
i think it's clear from the way that EDC talked about him and sarratt, that they see Lane as an "x" - which means he's going to have to beat press, which he doesnt do right now
I finally had a weekend with nothing to do but rest, so I decided to watch the doco on/by Lane, made in the days leading to the combine and draft. Kid is great, I like him a lot. There's a little bit of Zion Young in there, too.
A long watch but enjoyable.
