2025 Offseason Thread

madubuike has outrageous bend, length and explosion lol
we're underselling nnamdi if we think he's just gonna push against doubles
I’m not saying that’s all, but I’m saying he’s GONNA get doubled, and he’s capable of pushing against doubles and still disengaging, peebles is an interior rusher that can pair really well with what he does and what offenses will have to do to him

Y'all miss any of these guys?

i liked trystan colon
kyu blu kelly was a big draft miss of mine given how poorly he did for the ravens, but this dude's about to start for the raiders this year lol - either he needed a lot more seasoning than we thought, or that raiders defensive backfield is apalling

I do have to say... cutting only 3 guys today is kind of dick move lol. I know they process most of these moves as late as they possibly can, so why did these 3 dudes get singled out? I kid a little bit but it is kind of rude at the same time.

maybe these were the only guys they could cut and still have a good enough group to practice???
only other thing i can think of is that these guys asked to be cut early because they don't have any chance at the PS and want their names out there for other teams early???

maybe peebles is that guy

i think more likely is we see travis jones be an absolute monster this year - if you double both him and madubuike then one of the edges is free - so either the offence has to leave 6 in to block (and still leave both edges singled up) or either jones or madubuike are going to get 1v1s in passing situations

Travis jones is unlikely to be here beyond this year, so peebles has a huge window to become something. He’s in a great situation and he’s shown all preseason why he will deserve a real good look at some point in the future

Sounds like a both thing for KBK - he's improved and done well, and there's also not much talent in the LV secondary at all.

Not that it should be overly surprising, but it sounds like Keyon Martin is the favorite for the last spot. Seems we have another guy that won a spot based on preseason performance, which is a rarity. He had apparently been having an okay to good camp before bodies started falling at CB. Once he started getting reps against the better guys, he started to elevate. Carried that confidence into the games and it seems he earned his way.

It's not locked in by any means as they're still assessing what other teams are doing and seeing where they think the interest might be, but he put himself on the right side of the bubble heading into tomorrow.

You could see based on the stadium practice order of entry that he was clearly top of the udfa tree at CB

He and lowery were clearly both ahead of longerbeam but that wasn’t saying much and in a different scenario he could have been DB14 or DB15 rather than DB11

Also notable he came in fairly early in the first two preseason games on special teams

Just think he’s a really cool story - the real story of a guy who competed and played too well to be ignored anymore - he’s the guy people wanted jay higgins to be

Looks like Dayton Wade and Xavier Guillory both broke their collarbones on Saturday. A shame for Wade because he was probably a priority PS guy.
exactly what I thought happened to Wade on Saturday, but didn't think it would be that bad for Guillory. Really tough tough break, npi for them, but that may get them on the IR. Sucks because one or both of them may have been PS candidates.

Lots of teams pulling the plug on recent draft picks this morning. Those guys are much more likely to get claimed than the UDFAs.

Not all of them are the same level of priority of course, but I've heard they have all interest in all of the following as PS members... assuming the roster ends up being what it sounds like it's gonna be

QB: D. Leary
RB: D. Johnson, L. Scott (FB)
WR: K. Kirkwood, A. Miller
TE: Z. Mitchell-Paden, S. Washington
OL: G. Dellinger, N. Samac, D. Dalcourt, G. Lichtenhan
DL: B. Urban, C. Ravenell, C. Okoye, J. Jones
ED: M. Hamm, K. Rucker
LB: J. Higgins, C. Martin
CB: M. Robinson, T. Graham
S: B. Brade, K. Jackson

I know they plan to see what outside options exist at QB, DB, and maybe TE
