2025 Offseason Thread

One note I haven't mentioned yet is that the team finally feels they got it right with the coaching staff this year. When they got ransacked last year, some of the top options on their list had already landed elsewhere, so they opted for familiarity and guys with whom someone had a connection. That didn't work near as well as they had hoped last year, so they moved on from some of those guys and targeted some fresh blood and it's gone really well so far. Players have been universally raving about their position coaches which we know has not always been the case across the board like this.
First time in a while that we got two returning coordinators i believe!

it's nice that matt elam and breshad perriman are truly outliers (and also now 11 and 13 drafts ago...)
I wanted Peters so bad in that draft and when he was taken before we were on the clock, I had a feelingn Perriman was going to be that pick. I still thought he had a chance, but was never put in a position to succeed.

Just saw a clip of Zay mentoring wester and tez, he’s gonna play a big part as a leader over the years. He’s trying to get them to understand how Lamar sees the game, and what he’s gonna be trying to do, telling them Lamar is trying to go deep when he’s extending the play and to look for that opening over the top.

Underrated thing, having a guy with great chemistry with Lamar breaking down to the young guys how they can get opportunities.

Internally, they fucking loved Zay leading up to and during the draft. Now that he's been in the building for a couple of years, they fucking love him even more. He's far from the "prototype WR1" but they don't care. They think he's a perfect fit for Lamar and the offense we run. He's quietly one of their priority re-signs in the next couple of years.

I remember seeing a tweet about how he was still run blocking his ass off with a tear down his eye when Boston College was losing or something to that effect. Though I included Addison in my list (Brother @JAAM can attest to it), Zay was my #1 #SIIE that year for that reason. Had a feeling that he and Lamar would do wonders together. Lo and behold......

I was aware of the zay flowers love, I remember hearing rumors buzzing as we were getting close to picking that we were really hoping for zay and he was by far our favorite prospect there.

And yeah he is without a doubt one of the core players. He could go 800-1200 yards every single year and account for a lot of first downs and from all over the field.

He’s like a Wes welker was for Brady. Don’t need a prototype wr1 if you get many important yards from your Y and build your offense around it

He’s been a big character guy for sure. And knowing what we’ve seen from him, and then seeing that clip, is just awesome. He’s becoming a locker room leader. He’s got the personality for it, he’s showing why the ravens loved him so much as a prospect

I've scoured through every preseason game and put together short compilations of a few lesser known Ravens players on Twitter using the All-22 footage. If anyone wants to see them, let me know and I can post them here. I wish I could just post the standalone videos here, but the uploads did not work. I don't think this forum can handle the file sizes.

i think the other thing with zay was they loved him so much that everyone else knew just how much they loved him since they basically were in his hip pocket the whole way through the shrine bowl practices

Here's my compilation of Keyon Martin's unexpectedly excellent preseason.

One of the highest graded corners through three games, I thought Martin was surprisingly stick in following receivers out of their breaks. He was also decisive and aggressive downhill, which is a must considering his size. The footage aside, there were one or two instances where he was grounded by a blocker. Specifically one instance wherein he was blown up by FB Hunter Luepke's kick-out block on a run blitz. But that's just the nature of weighing in at 170. That said, he consistently used his speed and acceleration (Link) to his advantage and was far more of a difference maker against the run than he had any right to be. I'm completely unfamiliar with his college tape, but the numbers were promising despite him potentially being miscast as a boundary corner. I think he could legitimately factor into the rotation.
