Next Up: @ Bills (Divisional Round)

Rusfan

Hall of Famer
I’m calling it since Denver has clearly given up.

Played them in Baltimore and beat them 35-10, and I think we match up very well. Only question is do we get them on a nice weather day or is it another rainy/windy/snowy mess?

I think if both teams match their respective first halves in the wild card we win this one comfortably but that remains to be seen.

Define the term for me Ludy. What does winning 'comfortably' mean to you?

Just remember, the Bills struggled to beat a bad Patriots team who fired their Head Coach and hired a new one. We got this.....

The three keys to victory against the Bills

1)
Stop putting Stephens on the best WR. I know it's not every play, but he takes whoever is lined up on his side. So the other team decides who he is up against it seems.

2) Don't abandon the run, but don't run Lamar so damn much. Even if they have a LB constantly cutting in to hit Henry behind the line, like TJ Watt repeatedly did, have plays that account for that and give Lamar a short WR/TE to check down to, rather than having him instantly run just because the play started as a running play. Maybe make it a design run with a fallback screen pass on the side that Lamar would run to.

3) Get more pressure. If we don't pressure Allen more than we have some of the QB's in recent games, I can see their WR's easily getting separation from Stephens or even Washington, leading to him getting picked on CONSTANTLY. And when he is picked on, we give up tons of passing yards, like in the 3rd quarter against the Steelers. (Allen is the least-sacked QB in the league, by far with 14)

Bonus Key:
If Lamar has the first down on a run and has a closing wall of defenders he can't reasonably juke away from, then he needs to GIVE HIMSELF UP. Slide. It's one yard less than just faceplanting and taking a hard knee to the back...

So according to CBS... the start times for the games next week in the divisional round are as follows...

Saturday Jan 18th - 4:30PM & 8:00PM
Sunday Jan 19th - 3:00PM & 6:30PM

I don't think Romo & Nantz do Saturday games so if we got them as Romo says, then we likely are playing Sunday at 3:00PM. This likely means Texans/Chiefs will be Saturday at 4:30PM. So we'll know what is at stake before our game, if Chiefs win then the winner goes to Arrowhead. If Houston stuns the Chiefs, then the winner of Baltimore/Buffalo hosts the Texans.

I do not need to wait until Saturday to know. I watched the Texans play, and watched them play the Chiefs a month ago. The winner of Bills/Ravens is going to Arrowhead.

I wonder why broncos kept putting nix in those 3rd and long situations.. unless you plan on going for it on 4th, i hate the idea of running the ball on 2nd and long.. run run pass is really as bad as it gets..

you can't even put Stephens on Hollins, who btw, has more TDs than any other receiver on the Bills roster..

Lamar running the ball so much is the reason we dominated TOP. The Steelers didn’t believe he would pull it that often and it was their downfall. 10-15 rushes for Lamar should be the norm going forward
