The WR Thread

No need for the condescension from a mod no less.

Ive been very good (minus evans) at getting wide receivers right since i started following the draft and there is just something i think is missing.

He's good at everything without being Excellent at anything which is why i think he will be just only ever be "good" not a top receiver.

Think he will grade out as a late first early second when his career is done but im willing to watch more and become convinced by him
Wtf, I absolutely wasn’t being condescending. I agree, you are entitled to your opinion. Don’t read into it

All I was saying is just because others believe he could be elite or a number 1 doesn’t mean you need to step in line. Not sure where you thought I was being condescending.

It sounded as if you were saying "your wrong but carry on".

Still think oline or defense is the way to go in the first. Nelson mcglinchey brown... Fitzpatrick james smith. 1 of those 6 has to be there surely

It’s the internet dude. I’m not sure if “fuck off” is an insult or a sarcastic remark from a friend anymore haha

If Nelson, McGlinchey or Fitz are their I’d certaintly want them over a wr. Not sure about James yet. I need to study more tape on him, but if Jefferson is used properly he is a very good SS. If he has another bad year, I wouldn’t mind Clark in the SS role.

There is no other WR in this class that can get open as much as Ridley and he goes very open in a blink of an eye. He is the best route runner of all, has excellent hands and isn't shy contesting, and often winning, on a 5050 ball. Great blocker in running game, too.

I don't understand what are you seeing when watching him.

This. And if it's a gut feeling thing, I really don't get it, because he passes the eye test with flying carpets. He's great for a film junkie as you can see his great work at the line and his elite breaks and releases, the foot and handwork, the head and shoulder fakes, the natural understanding of leverage, it's all there, and for those less inclined to spot these traits he's got explosive speed and acceleration, quickness and agility nothing short of elite, best hands in the draft, and a great ability to adjust to a poorly thrown ball and a pretty solid ability to win contested catches.

There is literally not one area he falls short in, he's at least "good enough for the NFL" in every single category and "unquestionably elite" in many others.

Woa maan, I've been away for such a long time. My routine has entirely killed my social life, with at least 14 daily hours out of home.
Now I come in here and see this site rocking it. Man, amazing job. Looks great. Congrats to all those involved:clap:

Totally agree with Allblack up here. Ridley looks like the only great, sudden route runner (who can play in and outside) worth a top 20 pick.
Honestly, Sutton has the measurables, the physicality to go up for contested catches, but he's a low 1st rounder in my eyes. He doesn't have a lot of explosiveness nor top end speed. He also faced a ton of zone defense so that helped him get separation. As an eventual #1 WR he will go against opponents top CBs and I'm not sure you can consiser him your first read. He's kind of like Doctson but without the very good vertical.
If there's a receiver who's great at adjusting to every single over/under thrown ball and you can definitely trust in 1 on 1 situation that's Steve Ishmael. I love him and I'm not sure he'll still be there when we pick in the second round.
However, there's plenty of great potential at WR in round 2, although with experience or role limitations.
First that comes to mind is Equanimeous St Brown. QB play was abysmal and I wonder why the heck would ND constantly use him as a safety blanket on cross routes or on quick screens. He's a polished route runner and a huge target. Just run him corner-post or post-outs. He'd do great imo.
Another one who's been killed by his own QB play was DJ Moore. God the guy is so underrated. Looks so much like Jarvis Landry. He and Deontay Burnett are the perfect resemblance of the NE kind of receivers. Very good prospects and I really like them (Moore better) but I wouldn't love them as Ravens picks as we desperately need someone to compensate what we already have in Maclin, Campanaro.
My fav picks would be St Brown/Ishmael in the 2nd, or Jester Weah in the 3rd.

I only care about 2 thi

90% of how I judge a guy is how much his name sounds as a receiver. I could totally see a touchdown st brown. Or some connecting Ishmael to mail, postman etc. gotta give weah a d- for this reason only. Lol

I like Burnett as well. Similar skills to Ridley but at a cheaper price.

I like Burnett but he has so many frustrating drops...
Yep.. Very true.
I bet a team will still give him a shot before day 3 kicks in, just because of his quickness.
One who shouldn't have catch issues is the next Hakeem Nicks, Anthony Miller. He only lacks that second gear to put him between the future elites but he's a reliable WR with good patience after the catch to find holes. I def have sympathy for him. Just not my first choice for this team if StBrown and Ishmael are around.
Even DJ Chark should be in consideration on RD3 even if he had a few bad plays in crucial situations (fumbles as a wr or returner).
I'd really like to see more of Weah. There's very few material on his name. Maybe I have to watch entire Pitt games to have a better idea
I don't find anything concerning his east west shrine bowl practices or game, either. Few things I saw were veeery interesting. Coming back attacking the ball, good range, good catch outside his frame and good control of his body along the sideline.

How did you find purple flock.

How did you find purple flock.

He’s been here. Mostly comes during draft time. I usually very much agree with his analysis. And we happen to like same players a lot. Like Burnett and Chark. And I’m not as big on Anthony Miller as some here. But he is somebody you root for!!
