WR/RB Thread

tbf this does seem like a complete freak incident but i kind of wish we made the playoffs if only so we had to release an injury report and reveal camp's status so that we know what's happened to him
I thought I read somewhere ankle sprain but that might have been about Shady McCoy

Has Collins done enough if your guys book to justify not drafting a RB early? I’m still not sold, and this RB class coming out is loaded.
Barkley will be gone by our pick, but guice and Love should be there at 16.
2nd round could be someone like chubb or rashaad penny (my personal favorite).

Honestly, I could definitely see the team take Guice at 16. Especially if there's a run on receivers.

Do Dixon and West have roster spots next season? I’m really liking this three man rotation of Collins, Buck and Woodhead. No need to change it unless someone gets injured.
Dixon is twice the RB Buck is. Dixon looked better than Collins. If he's healthy, it'll be split between Dixon and Collins.

If we draft a RB in the first 4 rounds even, I’ll be really pissed.

What's wrong with Buck. He outperformed Woodhead both in the passing game and as a runner. He ran hard and was good in short yardage. He's always healthy. Why wouldn't you want us to keep Buck as RB3?

I don't think she meant anything about getting rid of Buck, rather that he isn't the electric talent Dixon or Collins can be. He's a good backup but should stay behind both in the pecking order.

Dixon didn't look better than Collins... he looked good, but cmon, Collins had a freakish yards after contact number, he showed incredible upfield cuts to squeeze through tight windows, he made huge plays out of nothing. Dixon had a few nice carries where he finished runs with power and pushed a few piles, but that was in an extremely small sample size, Collins did it in the course of nearly a full season

Dixon has had a bad start, injuries and suspensions. He may develop, but a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

It would be nice to have Dixon and Collins getting 200 carries and 1000 yards. While taking turns blocking. Dixon could probably block with fullback power. And he is a great receiving back that can make plays. More than an outlet back

Collins proved himself to be a very good RB and he would have had a 1000 yd season if we went to him earlier. Buck also played a lot better during the 2nd half of the season so, along with Dixon coming back, our RB group is looking pretty solid.

I'd rather not have us draft a RB early just because we have so many other priorities on offense. We need more O-line help, we obviously need better WRs, and we could also use an upgrade at TE. RB is probably the least of our worries on offense right now.

I disagree. You seem to forget that Dixons had to create a lot by himself too. Maybe not as much as Collins but he still made the most of his carries. And while Collins is more sudden, Dixon was taking tacklers to school with his violence.
