Fun fact:
Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen both average about 2.5 turnover worthy plays per playoff game, but Allen has benefited from A LOT of luck in the playoffs (only 4 fumbles lost on 15 fumbles!)
In 2023 and 2024, when Monken was coaching the playoffs, Lamar actually had the second highest EPA/play of any quarterback, behind only Allen.
Lamar has had TWO defensive turnovers forced in the playoffs in his eight games. Drake Maye, on the other hand, has a defense that forced eight turnovers and allowed two touchdowns in three games this playoffs alone.
When Flacco won the Super Bowl, he not only benefitted from dropped interceptions on his own passes, but also from 10(!!!) turnovers forced, including a crucial pick-6 against the Broncos.
The offense has to perform more consistently, absolutely, but Lamar and the offense have suffered from really poor luck where just about every turnover worthy play is capitalized on by the opposing defense and the Ravens own defense is failing to force their own turnovers or capitalize when the opportunities arise.
Edit: I should add, those stats were reflected for 2018-2024.
With Allen, his turnover luck came down to earth a bit against the Broncos, but that's more in line with what should be expected overall.
