Jesse Minter Head Coach

Really liked hearing all of the emphasis on relationships and this whole gig being a partnership, not only at the top, but with the players as well. Seems like one of our biggest downfalls in recent years - coaches were coaches and players were players.

Heard about fundamentals, toughness, connections and relationships. And theyre looking for those collaborators at the coordinator level too. Love that

Im already being critical, but why did he have to read that intro? It was so short and uncomplicated that he shouldn't have had to. Was so robotic

*Scrambling, searching for the ‘Fire Minter’ thread*
I love the idea of the defensive X factor that Minter brings. Let's see how he runs the team. I expect him to do well because he seems, young, creative, and nice.

But he's never gonna be a great speaker to the media. Not that that matters at all. Harbaugh wasn't. He was so annoying

In that same vein he mentioned all phases supporting each other as one team, not operating as separate units.

Jesse was clear, succinct and confident. Thought he did a fantastic job in his first presser as a HC.

Yeah, if coaches wanna be firefighters, they should be. And if players wanna be chiropractors, we should support that. Stop trying to shove them into a singular role.

He had me at "looking for schematic expertise" when talking about the search for coordinators/assistants

Thought it was cool Steve only had Sashi and Eric there with Jesse. Dude is The Dude.

interesting also that after everything he said at the presser, on the snippet when he interrupted Jamison Hensley, he basically said that in actuality this was EDC and Sashi's hire that he approved but ultimately it was their decision

this despite the fact that he said he had the power and they had opinions

i wonder if, as the search progressed, the importance of scheme and philosophy became more important than traditional leadership qualities and so he deferred to the expertise of the football experts more than maybe he would have 20 years ago when scheme was less fundamental of a quality for a successful HC

At this point in his career The Man has become The Dude, not a Dude. lol
This just reminded me of a little theme song from a movie.. “ he’s a dude. She’s a dude”.. i dnt remember where it came from though lol….. jay and silent bob? You ever saw that
