2026 Offseason Thread

The latter covers it in my opinion, and nothing tells that story more than Aeneas Peebles last year. Couldn't get on the field because he wasn't good against the run, yet we put so-so run defenders out there that offered nothing in the pass rush department. Just a pure archaic way of thinking and shows that he never really adjusted with the league as it became so much more pass heavy. Not saying I want to get run all over but there are multiple facets to the game and we've spent too long focused too heavily on one vs. the other.
I do wonder if any of the better pass rushers the giants have end up falling back to the mean.

It'll certainly be interesting to see, but they've got talent that we don't. And when we had edge talent, they were good. Feels like the reality is somewhere in the middle - didn't have great talent but still felt like we weren't getting the best out of guys. I'm more curious to see if a guy like Mike Green starts to ascend here.

Minter saying that the biggest reason Oweh popped in LA is because they simplified things for him, which is very telling
Our defense took a nose dive under Orr, it wouldn't surprise me if guys who looked terrible under Orr returned to their former self again (IE, Roquan & Marlon).

Loved his demeanor and didn't sound 29. Carried himself like he was on his 3rd wife and 2nd mortgage. If he's as successful as I think he'll be this year, we need to take full advantage before he's poached and get some hardware.

Side question. Say we tag Linderbaum and happen to win a championship. I wonder how the fanbase would feel if we then let Tyler walk/traded him.
I just want Lamar to win at least one (AND SB MVP, very important). After that, of course I want us to keep as many key contributors as we can. If not, oh well, shrugs shoulders, load up on draft compensation and have not too high expectations for the following season.

he will throw 9 TD passes and the kicker will get the MVP because it's the first time 9 xtra points were kicked in the SB. You know it's going to happen

He was incredibly arbitrary. Just a stubborn old boomer stuck on “tradition”

I can’t speak for Lamar’s contract situation and how that may impact the Ravens in free agency. He could have a career ending injury at any point like any player, and I can’t hate on them to get their bread.

I will say Doyle said all the right things about Lamar having a growth mindset and his willingness to learn. We’ve seen the growth his entire career. Only times I can say he has looked a bit checked out was the last two years with Roman when opposing teams were calling the plays as they happened, and last year when you could see his frustration with the play calling.

I don’t blame players for checking out when all the coaches say at the podium is the players have to execute better, and are okay with complacency with coaching.

So far this staff is saying the right things. It’s time for them to put the words into action. Doyle and Minter are students of the game and are hungry.

So if he gets injured first snap of the year he personally would be better off taking a fat guaranteed bonus right now

I think its clear that jmad injury could possibly be career ending. Only reason to stay private about an injury this long. He probably getting more medical opinions before he commit to anything.
