The King and Snoop, the Defense, and the Merry Christmas Ya'll

Harbs arguing anything has zero to do with him staying or not. Steve will make the decision based on what he sees as the best path forward.
Steve will make the decision based on the easiest path forward. He’s already said when he retires he’s selling to another family and doesn’t wanna do this forever, everything he’s done for the organization lately appears to be for one reason, to inflate the selling cost. He’s been out of the team spotlight for a very long time now.

He don’t give a fuck about making the best football decision anymore.

Coaching malpractice Henry hadn’t gotten a minimum of 20 rushes per game during his Ravens tenure.
I mean he has the second most rushes of any RB the past 2 years. Hard for me to say he is underused when that is the case.

Yet they decided to manage his load in maybe the most important series of the year…

Literally makes it even worse

Mitchell breaks off multiple big runs and everyone says he needs more touches. They then give him touches and everyone complains that Henry is not getting touches. Seems like a lot of Monday Morning QB talk where any decision is the wrong one.

Easy to say that if your only focus is making other fans sound dumb to prop yourself up as you’re one to do.

But situational football is a very real thing and if you’re trying to salt the clock away with a backup qb and you have Derrick Henry, it’s incredibly obvious to anyone with common sense, what the right play is.

Fans saying Keaton Mitchell needs more touches should have no influence. Early in the season it was more about activating Mitchell over hill and Ali because neither player was doing a goddamn thing. Mitchell is still clearly the backup and Henry is OBVIOUSLY the guy to use there. Stop with the mental gymnastics.

I mean our game threads exist and are still there. There were plenty of people in there saying Henry lost a step and to give Mitchell more of his touches.

My consistent belief is I don't like the logic of thinking its a bad idea if it fails but a good idea if it works. It was a constant stream from fans, the media, and all around that Mitchell was great and Henry has lost a step. Mitchell has a bad game followed by Henry having a historic game and suddenly now the calls are that Henry is great, hasn't lost a step, and should have all the touches.

The Ravens have had no problem giving Henry the ball over the past 2 years. Now I don't know how gassed Henry was for those 6 plays but I wont dog them for giving the ball to the guy everyone was saying needed more carries. He didn't have it that night but I cant fault the logic.

Did I help with this? I think it was more that the Steelers without DK are actually inept against a quality defense. Unfortunately, we dont have a quality defense.
I mean I think the Steelers are bad against a good pass rush and bad without DK. I do worry about this game just because the Ravens dont have a good pass rush but they also do not have an NFL level WR right now.

From memory it was more about giving Mitchell carries from Hill. No fan is ever going to like resting a super star like Henry. For me it's all about the timing, resting him the entire 4th quarter in a tight critical game just seems ridiculous playcalling.

I don’t recall anyone saying Mitchell needs to eat into Henry’s carries because Henry lost a step, but okay.

I’ve clamored all year and last year for Henry on third down and we did that heavily against GB for the first time and it worked incredibly well, and that’s not a hindsight thing, it’s a thing that should’ve always been used.

Situationally, you’re looking for a guy who’s going to create yards and batter a defense that has gotten battered all night, Henry was the guy doing the battering. Harbaughs emphasis on the rotation hints that it wasn’t a matter of Henry being gassed, but simply an inflexible gameplan implemented by the coaches, aka overthinking it and outsmarting themselves like they so often do. It was a microcosm of a lot of the issues we’ve had with harbaugh. No amount of “but fans wanted more Mitchell right?” Is going to change the fact that situationally it was a boneheaded call, we called it out while it was happening live, in the moment not one ravens fan on earth was like fk yeah man I’m glad Mitchell’s getting carries right now.
