Next Up: @ Bills (Divisional Round)

Are we just playing for the Lamar vs. Josh narrative tomorrow? Are the refs going to allow either team to beat the Chiefs?

I doubt it, but maybe after the 'threepeat' it'll go back to being a sport again rather than this WWE bullshit.

Alright..... we just got to do what the Commanders did to the Lions. Just play our style of football, Lamar needs to be calm, poised, create turnovers on defense and try to minimize the refs having any say in this game at all. If we get our run game going with Henry like we did in week 4 against them, and play the way we played against Pittsburgh, we aren't losing tomorrow.

buff plays a lot of 2 high S i guess..i doubt that will vs is though right? Assuming zay doesnt play, we didnt target anyone deep last week vs steelers so id imagine bills switch it up a little bit to help with the run vs us

if they play 2 high that much - we will run for 300 yards again

Weather looks good, shouldn’t be a factor.

The Bills are fraudulent, their best wins are the fraud chiefs and fraud lions. We destroyed them and so did Houston. We will again tonight

they aren't a team that matchus up. They believe in their nickel defense being able to stop the run. It's a team that also hasn't faced the zone read much this year and will be susceptible to it. The Rams and Chiefs got them on jet sweep and jet dive. They are susceptible to power. If we come out in 22 or 23 personnel like we did against the Steelers they will have a hard time stopping it. I could also see Monken start with something else and come back to 22 or 23 in maybe the 2nd quarter.

I think we have this game.

They're not good

objectively, nobody can say that.

Back to back champion currently sitting one game out of a 3rd straight appearance. No matter how ugly the offense looks they execute.

Execution is their forte.

Are you talking about the refs execution or the Chiefs?

I think any team could look efficient if their O line was allowed to hold and false start, or if sacking or even touching their QB is a -15 negative play for the defense and when every run and pass is given a generous spot. The Titans could slowly work their way downfield given the same officiating.

On the other side of the ball their pass rushers often line up offside, their corners are allowed to get very physical. (eg Look at L'jarius Snead all pro on the Chiefs to mediocre when he has to play by the rules in Tennessee. ) Opposing offenses always get spotted a little short too, and if they're too successful, despite all that, there's plenty of holding, illegal formation and illegal man downfield flags the refs can throw in crucial moments.

Put together it looks like an ordinary team is somehow executing with ultra efficiency but what is really is is basic refball.

Back to back champion doesn't matter. If it did, they would've been awarded the trophy in September. I understand you're saying there's experience there that's helpful. That's true but they already have so much experience in the postseason, there's not more to be gained in that department.

Their offense is vastly underperforming what it's capable of. And it's not a one-off. This is a couple years.

You're right their defense is their strength. And defense wins championships. This is the most likely reason they'll beat us or Buffalo or the team in the SB. With that being said, any objective person would note the following. That defense is mostly 2 players. McDuffie and Jones. The rest are a technically sound group without a ton of ELITE guys. Then you have Spags as DC. If you watch these games he's basically Wink+. Spags only stuff was blitz the house bc Stroud and his line couldn't do anything aboht it. Houston was having their way with KC. The only thing that stopped Houston was that their OL is all time bad and Stroud took like 8 sacks, of which 6 were egregious on his part. Even being hobbled, Stroud was able to make just so many plays with his legs. They also had 4 points of kicking thrown in the trash and KC had drives extended unfairly. If Houston has even 1 better OL position, makes their kicks, and the refs were fair they could easily have won that game on the road. Last point in this section, it shouldn't surprise you that we and Buffalo nearly or did beat them. QBs who can make things happen have higher highs than what is capable out of that defense.

Don't let that record from this season fool you. If they had 5 loses like they should have, the narrative would be way different. That is a replacement level offense coupled with an above average defense aided by ref ball and home field advantage.

Book it that they can't beat Baltimore or Buffalo next week.

The Bills are really good but I'm confident we can beat them (too confident? Maybe).

The only things that really worry me are

1. Josh Allen. If either QB plays much better than the other on the day - they'll win. Not much we can do about that but it is a worry.
2. Their O Line. It's really good. If we can't get to Allen and he gets too much time we're in trouble.
3. Brandon Stephens. What if he becomes an automatic deep completion whenever they want one? (This should probably be #1)
4. Special Teams. If it's close our bad special teams might be the difference.
