Week 8: Lamar, Our Hands, and The Coaching

Total team failure today, coaches on down to the players. Sadly, exactly how I thought we'd play. Not sure we ever get off the field on D if Kyle Hamilton didn't exist, and of course the eyes are on him at the end of the game when he had a chance to ice it.
I will say, that dropped INT was really unacceptable. Sorry to say it, maybe it's not popular, but you literally couldn't have caught an easier interception.

I'm not surprised by the outcome of this game. The Clowns always play the Ravens tough. Always! And then, for them to be 1-6 and having never reached 20 pts in a game; you gotta know that this game vs the Ravens in Cleveland was going to be the game that it all came together for them:

Monken foolishness with the wildcat on 4th & 1 got stopped.
Dropped passes by receivers.
O-line not protecting Lamar.
Tucker missed FG.
No pass rush on Jameis.
Defensive backs dropping gimmie picks.
JACKSON, JACKSON, JACKSON!!

Also I hate when people say something like well if BLANK then we would've won. Obviously the easiest example is Hamiltons drop at the end because that's definitive.

Who gives a fuck? If he catches that you have 1 more win but that changes almost nothing. You'd just have happier fans. The performance would've still been unnaceptably bad. At least with a loss some accountability is required
LMAO! News flash, good/great teams play bad at times, and can throw in stinkers. Ham makes that catch, game over. Move on and work to improve. That’s the way it works.

I caught crap from some of you for saying we gave a guy with no experience the DC job being 1 win away from the SB. Another season where an MVP Lamar performance will be waisted. Who thought it was a good idea to make Orr the DC??

We will not win another SB with Harbaugh. We get too cute and away fromn the things that are working for no reason. The last two playoff loss point to one person!

True. I don’t want to forget about Monken taking the ball out of Lamar’s hands twice in crucial spots. Luckily Lamar dug him out of it once

While I fully understand the idea of zone and what benefits you can get, we've struggled all season. We have talented players in the secondary. At what point should we pull the plug and just have these dudes running man?

Reading comprehension? This is a classic Bill Belichek adage. Losses are important for accountability. There's usually a far more tangible change from losses then from poorly played eeked-out wins.

The most frustrating part of this game was the attitude. Cleveland was fired up. Running on and off the field and hyping each other up. I don’t think we were flat per se, but they cared so much more than us

Divisional games are the worst. Playing down to the Browns like its normal

Insanity is to repeat the same thing and expect a different outcome.

I have no illusions of Orr improving. Maybe in a few years but sure as shit not on time for us to go deep in playoffs. No excuses like Humphrey and Nate being out or Pierce and Urban getting injured - it was the same crap with them on the field.

Are our returners taught to fair catch that close to the goal line? I mean what's the worst that can happen if they let it go and and see where the bounce go?

O line again exposed by a solid front / pass rush. KC, Raiders, now this. Feels like Monken tends to get too cute vs good defenses.

Fixing a D by far most important job. Don't care who but Orr should go. The sooner, the better if want a fighting chance of making it.

This team can win a SB if the following laundry list:

Get and stay healthy
No more Monken BS
No bad snaps
Faalele has to be ok against good DLs
No egregious drops
Use Henry
Get Budda Baker
Demote Orr
Find someone who can share the vision with the defense and call plays that meet that vision in game.

I feel any one of those being missing is a playoff death sentence. I'm pretty sure we're gonna struggle mightily vs Pitt.
Pitt is sweeping us this year

We’ve played one good defensive game all year against Buffalo and even then we tried to fuck it up and they just out-stupided us
