Unfortunately by what I've heard this guy was buying his arsenal thru decades and went thru thorough background checks so what do you want to do? If you've already said sorry I missed it. One thing I would strongly do tho is enforce our gun laws and quit giving slaps on the wrist. How many people have repeated gun violations? Its friggin ridiculous.

Because we have the strongest military in the world and we could mobilize in an instant if we needed to? Liberal as I am, I've always believed TR's words of speaking softly but carrying a big stick.

I would hope they commit less crime since there's less of them and I'm sure a lot is not reported for obvious reasons. I get so tired of hearing about there being jobs Americans wont do. Tell the true lazyasses on welfare to get to work. Second of all an overglut of labor is what keeps wages down.Hell why work in an orchard lets say when you can live just as well sitting on your ass. We allow this!! I mean if its a great year for corn crops which causes overabundance the price would be cheaper. Common sense.

About the mass shootings. ENFORCE GUN LAWS!!! Also maybe limit the amount of registered guns per person. Extra guns? Provide a buyback incentive. It may work. Could be worth a shot but of course it would be our tax dollars paying for it. There's like more guns in this country than people. There's really not much you can do besides what I said
 
I think the overarching issue is accessibility and availability, after 9/11 you can no longer use a plane as a weapon because cockpits are enclosed and fortified ie not longer accessible. Also after the OKC bombing in 95 the sale of ammonia nitrate fertilizer became heavily regulated, you cant just source 4 tons of it and make a truck bomb. These attacks wont happen again because we took the precautions to protect the public, meanwhile the next mass shooting will take place before we finish talking about this one.
 
Im all for the right to bear arms and I enjoy hitting the range as much as anyone else, but do we really need guns that can take down 500 people? Thats a rhetorical question.

Just to add to this, this was largely a compromise between federalist and anti-federalist.

We have to remember that America was coming off the Revolutionary War. They had just run from Great Britain and anti-feds feared that there was a chance that we could see a repeat of what happened in England. To counter this, they wanted the right of citizens to bear arms as protection against an oppressive government or against a foreign threat as America did not have a well regulated army yet that would serve to fight and protect.

This was literally made for the purpose of defending themselves from war and another situation like England. They did not write this for people to hunt or to just have 20 guns to fire off in their leisure.

As much as I agree with the DB's premise and as much as I am an avid reader of the DB, it is in fact one of the most liberal media sources out there. A legitimate and valid source, but one with a liberal perspective. To me, it's more or less the left's version of the Blaze, made famous by Tomi Lahren.

Nope. I didn’t realize it as I’m not an avid reader of the paper myself. I tend to read all sources though. I like to know what the right, left and independents are thinking. I’m Libertarian myself but pulled this and thought it was interesting.

Lots of other ways to do violence than use a gun. England has proven that. 9/11 has proven that. And there's a lot more examples. Again you are not ever stopping crime by creating senseless laws. Why don't you ever look at the other side of a coin one time and take the time to look up how many lives have been saved by gun.

Ok so wtf are you talking about? The article you posted mentions the uk not even once. Nor Australia, nor Canada...

Not quite sure how England has proven there is lots more ways to do violence than a gun - we don't have a higher proportion of death by bombs or anything - we have a knife crime problem in the U.K. But it's crazy how much easier to police and protect people from knives it is... someone goes crazy with a knife they don't kill 50+ people

I live in the uk and the only time I've even seen or held a gun was in the cadets

I've been held at knife point 3 times in my short life and while I didn't feel safe I didn't feel the need to have a gun or a knife of my own

If somebody wants to do you harm with a gun they are gonna do you harm before you have the chance to defend yourself

Making it more difficult to obtain and own a firearm is not breaking the cycle.

If we all of a sudden needed to start a militia, we don't have time to run down to Bass Pro and start on the paper work.

How many homes and business were recently destroyed due to looting and riots? Were the police not told to "stand down" in Baltimore?
What about gang violence in residential neighborhoods ?

Who are you? Who the fuck are you to sit there and tell me how the fuck I should and should not be allowed to protect my family and my property from fucking low life scum?
Who are you? Who are you to dictate how and by what means I can and can not protect my family?

Conservatives say " If you don't like guns, don't buy one "
If there is something a liberal doesn't like it is bad for everyone.
If there is something a conservative doesn't like, it is bad for that individual.

When are we going to start a militia when the US spends more on its military than the next 11 countries combined? Really, please, tell me when you will ever reasonably be called to start one.

The issue is that we have a mass shooting literally almost every day. That's a huge problem.

Sure, we can talk about 9-11 or a bombing, but 9-11 was once and how often do we hear about bombings? Rarely. How often is someone shot? Every single day.
