I think you and anyone worth their salt can agree. The team isn't lacking the overall talent to make a push into the postseason, coaching has cost us repeatedly these past four seasons. Under someone competent we'd have made the postseason each of the last three years.

I really hate to say it because he's a legend here for what he's done for his team but Ozzie has been losing his touch and his departure needed to happen.

People say that Decosta has been picking the draft picks over the past few years but that's entirely false. They've been Ozzie's picks and he's leaned on potential and has fallen in love with a players athletic traits far too much. I think analytics would have said that Perriman, Correa and Bowser would be likely busts but Ozzie had a different viewpoint. The picks in the second round primarily have been highly questionable and it's killing this team in the worst way. We've passed on so much receiver talent and overall skill position talent that it's maddening. 2014 Draft had some of the best WR talent we've ever seen and we passed, 2017 had the same in reguards to the RB position and we passed. I don't know what else to say outside of the fact that this team's lack of dedication of grabbing talent skill positions has been their downfall for the past four or five years. It's been the team's biggest problem. I mean I've been talking about this team's lack of playmakers for years and it's just getting repetitive at this point.

As far as Harbaugh goes, no need to really explain much, missing the playoffs at what, five of the last six seasons will be his ultimate undoing if he's fired after this season. Not really much to explain but if he remains with the team then it's very likely do or die for him the following year.

that's just recency bias

and even if we were to go down the fumble-not-lost route - he fumbled once this year vs the bills and he fumbled twice in one game vs dallas in 2016 - that is it

i mean buck allen has lost more fumbles than ty montgomery

alex collins in his 23 games as a raven has 7 fumbles and lost 5 of them

Yeah im wrong about that, I should've checked those numbers just an overreaction from what I saw from him on that kick off.

That said, outside of that I think he's a north-south runner that we could use on this team.

Now that I've had some time to think about it and let the overreactions come along. Our season isn't over yet. We are only one game off from having first place again. But this game, and the next game are absolute must wins. And they're most certainly winnable, but it depends on which Ravens show up. If we can pull off two wins in the next two games, there's a solid chance we win this division. Worst case scenario is that we need to win at least one of the next two. Steelers or Bengals are going to win the division and the chargers appear to have their wild card spot secured. Which leaves us in contention with a couple of teams for the second wild card spot. Looking at the rest of the schedule, I think we can beat every team except for the Chiefs, but nothing is guaranteed. We could very well go 4-4 but could also go 7-1. Knowing us I predict it will be closer to 5-3.

I have us beating the Steelers, beating the Bengals after the bye, beating the Raiders at home, losing to the Falcons in their home, losing to the chiefs causing the fanbase to go into a hilarious two game "our season is over" thing, beating the buccaneers at home, losing to the chargers on the road, and beating the Browns at home.

9-7. the second wild card seed is what I think we end up with. This game is a must win for many reasons, but if we can win a game going into the bye, that would be huge. Otherwise, it's bye bye Harbaugh and Marty. The rest of the staff can stay, and so can the rest of the team.

This is something on which everyone should be able to agree. These two games are absolutely must wins and I couldn’t agree more that we must win them or we are done. I think if you want Harbaugh fired then hope he loses these games because I think that is how he would be guaranteed to get fired.

I’m thinking the real issue with Ozzie besides draft picks are players retained. I wonder if we’ll see more sabermetrics due to Eric taking the helm as he’s a pretty big baseball fan and I could see him implement that more here.

Harbaugh has always been a very decent coach to me but nothing spectacular.

My view has always been and still is that he "inherited" a team filled with "player-coaches" (i.e. Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Haloti Ngata, Terrell Suggs etc.) who were also leaders in the locker room. Then along comes cats like Q and Pollard to add to that mix. So technically, all Harbaugh had to do was to be a great "team manager" and let it happen.

We win the SB with those dawgs and then Harbaugh busts up the team! Smh! With that being said, cats can say whatever they want to say negatively about Bernard Pollard (i.e. bitter, upset, vindictive etc.) but his words about Harbaugh back in 2016 have seemingly rung true when he stated;

"I'm sorry but this team will never be the same. They broke up something special way too early. Now he's (Harbaugh) got to COACH & that's not possible."

This game means everything. I don't care if we win by one point, by luck, by a fluke play. We just have to win or the season is over.

I've heard time to time where people have said that DeCosta is responsible for the draft picks over the past few years and I don't think that's the case. I've never heard it from anyone in the Ravens media or the ownerships about who has been making the picks outside of Ozzie.

It's a numbers thing I guess but we've fallen in love with a players potential rather then their skill set and what they could potentially do. I think we pass on guys who have higher floors for high ceiling players. I can't help but think Perriman along side of Correa and Bowser come to mind in that aspect.

I remembered hearing it back several years ago, but I could only find a 2018 article from the official website that said DeCosta organizes the drafts, but Ozzie has final say.

They said in 2016 that trade downs were made specifically to accommodate DeCosta's strategy of getting all those guys in the 4th round.
And those were talented guys, contributed way more than some early round picks.
