Next Up: Vs. Steelers

Montgomery is a solid player. But given that the problem with the offense is structural.... it just seems so pointless. This isn’t a move that helps us that much. I’m not confident that we effective utilize him. Nor will he add any true difference making dynamic.

and it cost us basically nothing
7th round picks according to nfl execs are basically as meaningless as udfa pickups

I don’t mind Montgomery but the drama surrounding him concerns me. I also am not sure he’s really that good because let’s face it here—it seems like he’s always the bridesmaid never the bride. GB drafted Jones after they already had him IIRC before any of this happened. I’m worried he’s JAG but I’m sure he’s not coming here to be some elite RB. I guess we’ll see though. I just wanted Clinton-Dix but I guess we didn’t want to give a first round pick. Yes, I know they got him for a fourth but that may as well be a first for the Ravens with how we’ve drafted lately. That’s where most our guys are coming from anymore,

Aaron Jones is a beast, when they give him the ball good things happen. He was a damn good player last year and this year he's building off of it, he just needs more carries and he will get that opportunity now. I don't know why Mike McCarthy took this long to realize it but Aaron Jones is a flat out stud. Their HC is just hard headed and I'm glad he's not with us.

I have to totally agree on your take on Ty. I just don't see anything special at all and he's probably going to split carries with Collins but those are two players who are prone to fumbles. Outside of that, this offense is still going to be the same product on the field.

not sure where you're getting Ty being a fumbler from - he fumbled on the kickoff - that's only the 2nd lost fumble of his career
that's just recency bias

and even if we were to go down the fumble-not-lost route - he fumbled once this year vs the bills and he fumbled twice in one game vs dallas in 2016 - that is it

i mean buck allen has lost more fumbles than ty montgomery

alex collins in his 23 games as a raven has 7 fumbles and lost 5 of them

Ty Montgomery has fumbled twice in five seasons.

Now that I've had some time to think about it and let the overreactions come along. Our season isn't over yet. We are only one game off from having first place again. But this game, and the next game are absolute must wins. And they're most certainly winnable, but it depends on which Ravens show up. If we can pull off two wins in the next two games, there's a solid chance we win this division. Worst case scenario is that we need to win at least one of the next two. Steelers or Bengals are going to win the division and the chargers appear to have their wild card spot secured. Which leaves us in contention with a couple of teams for the second wild card spot. One of the Bengals or Steelers, Miami Dolphins(who do have a difficult schedule in their own right and look like more of an 8-8 team than we do but we can't count anyone out), the Jaguars(who despite a legendary defense could also go 8-8), and the Titans(who we own the tiebreaker over, so that might be a bigger win than anticipated).

Looking at the rest of the schedule, I think we can beat every team except for the Chiefs, but nothing is guaranteed. We could very well go 4-4 but could also go 7-1. Knowing us I predict it will be closer to 5-3.

I have us beating the Steelers, beating the Bengals after the bye, beating the Raiders at home, losing to the Falcons in their home, losing to the chiefs causing the fanbase to go into a hilarious two game "our season is over" thing, beating the buccaneers at home, losing to the chargers on the road, and beating the Browns at home.

9-7. the second wild card seed is what I think we end up with. This game is a must win for many reasons, but if we can win a game going into the bye, that would be huge. Otherwise, it's bye bye Harbaugh and Marty. The rest of the staff can stay, and so can the rest of the team.

I mostly agree, but I think we beat the Falcons.

The way I see it, the next two games determine our season. We win the next two, there's a good chance we win the division. We win one, solid chance at the second wild card. We lose both, Harbaugh is likely fired week 12.

I don't trust this team to even go 6-2 down the stretch, we just have no been the model of consistency and that Browns loss is going to come back to haunt us if we miss the postseason. I don't care if it's a divisional game, you still shouldn't have lost especially considering that Chris Moore block negated a possible GW field goal. I'm still salty about that loss and the fact that they just fired Hue and Hailey shows their ineptitude as a team. That loss could hurt could be the result of Harbaugh losing his job.

I want Harbaugh fired regardless. His unwillingness to play rookies, and his unwillingness to fire his friends in a timely fashion has cost this team dearly. I'm glad Ozzie is departing too, and am very skeptical about Eric because of the ineptitude of the team in terms of building up the offensive line.

I think you and anyone worth their salt can agree. The team isn't lacking the overall talent to make a push into the postseason, coaching has cost us repeatedly these past four seasons. Under someone competent we'd have made the postseason each of the last three years.

This is by far our most important game of the season. We need to keep the division competitive because if Pittsburgh manages to win the division prior to week 17 then they're likely to sit their starters against the Bengals and it would pretty much eliminate us from playoff contention because Cincinatti is likely going to grab a W with the Steelers resting their players. That's just how I view things as of now.
