Aside from the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, the presser had quite a few other positives.
We discovered that Harbaugh and DeCosta aren't stupid. They know that Lamar is by far the best route to success and they really want to keep him around. That's great news.
Unlike a few fans, they aren't actually dumb enough to think a few picks and some cap space is a better option than a top QB. I was worried for a second, with some of the negative stories that were going around, that the Ravens might have been briefing against Lamar to prepare the fanbase for a trade.
They also seem to have seen the light regarding the importance of the WR position. There was no talk of "we're a running team", "we're a tight end -centric offense." They explicity made upgrading the WR room a key part of the off-season.
In fact, I think they might have made it too obvious that the first pick is going to be a WR - teams might jump us for the last one- but on the other hand, GMs aren't stupid, they already knew the Ravens needed to go WR in the 1st before EDC ever opened his mouth.
