Lamar Jackson

Well and also the contract terms for Carr are pretty team friendly. Basically a two year deal for $70M, fully gtd.
That's what I'm getting at. It's not a great deal in the grand scheme of things, but people are out there acting like Lamar should be insulted by Carr getting that deal. Lamar would rightfully feel insulted if that was anywhere close to the offer he had on the table.

Well also you have people that think that Lamar is like 3-4x the player Carr is, and that if Carr gets $35M, Lamar should get $80M.
Obviously the real world doesn't work that way.

I’ve pretty much accepted it lol
Most are stressed but there were a few who realized this was the most likely scenario when it wasn't done last year. I've just been waiting to see what we get in return.

If I had to guess the team it would be the Jets.

I just can’t believe it honestly. When the Ravens love somebody they always seem to figure it out.
I’m also not going to be that upset if we trade him. With Geno locked into Seattle, Carr in NO, and LJ with another QB needy team, our chances of snagging a young talented rookie are improving

Texans
Colts
Lions
Raiders
Falcons
Panthers
Titans
Jets

all in the top 13, all with QB needs - some of them more desperate than others (e.g. Titans might be content to start a rebuild and leave QB another year and roll with Malik Willis for now)

but Texans are taking a QB
whoever trades into the 1st pick is taking a QB
Lions and Jets both feel like they need to find a QB - maybe the Jets are in the free agent QB market because they need some instant coffee but there's not a ton left for them to go after now

And a lot of meh teams there that need to add more talent than just QB and giving up heavy draft capital plus a gigantic contract is a tough sell.

I’d take Houston’s 2nd and 12th this year and their first next year in a mf heartbeat

I'd say Panthers, Lions, Jets and maybe Colts all have rosters that adding Lamar to is an easy sell

but i more meant it in the sense that there's lots of teams looking for QBs (and some that are desperate) that it's no guarantee there'll actually be anyone to pick up who's worth anything if we were to trade Lamar away

Those are the contenders but, if the Ravens use the exclusive tag, I think you can scratch the Lions off that list because they're not desperate - Goff's OK, so they can afford to wait for QB to come to them a little.

You can also scratch off the Texans, I think they're drafting one - their roster is too far away for them to give up a lot of picks.

The Raiders too, I'd guess. I just don't think McDaniels wants a Lamar type of QB, ideally.

If the Ravens use the non-exclusive tag, it becomes such a bargain that every team with enough cap space becomes a viable contender.

Yea i don’t disagree but if we actually trade Lamar one of those teams gets LJ. Titans, Lions are staying with the status quo, one of those teams is getting Rodgers, rumors are now Jimmy G to Vegas…that leaves us and four other teams fighting for a top guy. Not ideal but still within the realm of possibility to land one, especially with the additional draft capital
