Lamar, The Running Game and The Defensive Collapse

iirc not one of the conversions was a traditional run
1 was the Mark Andrews QB sneak
1 was the Pat Ricard FB dive
1 was the play-action to Mark Andrews for a TD pass

seemed like the hardest thing for the ravens today was getting 1 yard
getting 10 was somehow easier than getting 1

there are 3 or 4 posters here who are way too into the idea of moving on from lamar
Not me, I love Lamar. Just believe a record setting deal with the issues we have, and probably won’t be able to address is not enough for a Lombardi. It is a team sport and we have to sign and keep enough decent players on offense and defense to compete at a high level. The cap sucks, when you have a great owner and front office.

wont win anything without an elite QB in this era of QB play

Are we sure this run game will get going with Dobbins and/or Gus back? Like the run blocking looks so fucking bad. The pass blocking though… me likey

My most serious gripe is they overturned the touchdown, which was the call on the field, when there was no conclusive camera picture to conclusively overturn the call.

I'm not ready for Dobbins and Gus to come back. Because I think they're also going to probably struggle behind this OL and then it's gonna be a huge meltdown. I'm sure they'll be better than Davis and Hill though

Lol just ask him to point out the negative Hamilton plays

he had like 1 missed tackle when garrett wilson juked both him and stephens, he had 1 poor angle - he was otherwise very assured and grew into the game and triggered better and better through the game... and that carried into this week

Definitely a random name but I feel like Broderick Washington may have been the best defensive player on the field today. Felt like he consistently showed up in the rotation.

only IDL who got any pressure other than that 1 time Michael Pierce was left 1v1 vs a RB

Not stressing BUT the Ravens were a better team offensively and it showed! They jumped out to a 28-7 lead by halftime. However, they did have trouble going for it on 4th downs. That is a problem! The defense? That's another story! They gave up 4 touchdowns in the 4th Qrtr alone and Tua threw for 6 on them! So, in my assessment, it is not what the Dolphins did per se but what the Ravens failed to do! They failed to put a team away when they had the opportunities and got put away themselves! Pitiful!
That was my issue with Harbaugh. With our run game being trash, why not take the three on the first and punt on the second. They scored with 19 seconds. May not have had the time if they had to drive 30 extra yards on that one drive or we could have used our timeouts to ensure we could save enough time, so we could get in Tucker’s range on our last drive. Going for it on both fourth and ones, ended up costing us the game. Harbaugh learned nothing from last season. Fuck analytics!!!!

If this were a Joe situation and Joe were playing the way he usually did (i.e.- worse than Lamar on average, by a large margin), I guarantee one of those posters would be begging DeCosta to sign Joe to the contract he wanted.

The defense not being able to make a stop cost us the game
