Ravens Ring of Honor
So this means the Panthers are on the clock?I think they're on auto-skip like the Cardinals since they've made zero moves.

Yep. Go crazy. They'll be immediately skipped until/if they show up like ARI and NE.So this means the Panthers are on the clock?
Before I get this day started....
It took me a good amount of time to convince myself that Orlando Brown was worth it last night, but I just had to trust my instinct. I've always been one that cares more about the tape than the underwear olympics, but Brown's certainly gave me pause. When I thought about it though, the combine didn't really tell me anything I didn't already know. My first two notes on Brown were "technique is raw" and "needs work in an NFL weight/conditioning program." I was very pleased with what D'Alessandris and Roman were able to do with shoddy players last year and I think they'd be perfect to help this mountain of a man reach his potential. With my limited time this year, I haven't been able to look into players as much as I typically do, so I'm also letting some of the draft pundits factor into my decision making and many of them still have Brown as one of their top tackles and a day 2 pick. It could be a complete disaster, but it was a risk I thought was worth taking in a rather poor OL class and really, draft as a whole.
i dont think its even that controversial tbh - brown is still a top 40 player on my big board and i have said multiple times if he's there at 52 IRL that it'll be hard to pass over him - if id needed a tackle i might even have traded up for him
Good to hear. I’ve never been one to give a shit what people think of my picks, but I know Brown is a little more polarizing than most.
Matt Miller has said some scouts have him down as a day three pick now.i dont think its even that controversial tbh - brown is still a top 40 player on my big board and i have said multiple times if he's there at 52 IRL that it'll be hard to pass over him - if id needed a tackle i might even have traded up for him
Then again, all it takes is one team.Matt Miller has said some scouts have him down as a day three pick now.

Great pick. Highest player left on my board and I was hoping somehow he would be forgotten until I was up next..Before I get this day started....

I thought he might want to take part in the draft portion since he's checking in on the board (did not have first round pick).I think they're on auto-skip like the Cardinals since they've made zero moves.
Because of the exact reason you said- why, when you have a full month or more to train and know the exact tests, are you bombing the combine? Why such low effort? You know all you have to do is put in one month of training and go out there and perform for one day and that's it.i just dont see why though - he was never expected to be even remotely good athletically at the combine - the only thing that irks me is how much he improved for his proday and therefore i wonder why he couldnt put that same effort in pre-combine but his numbers from his proday are fine given what he was expected to do - if you can find a reason to throw out his combine numbers (maybe there is a reason) then all of a sudden there's no real problem at all
i can understand him dropping down to round 3 but day 3 seems ridiculous - he'd have to have bombed the interviews with those scouts
This is absolutely true. Then again, all it takes is one team.
Definitely fair to presume. Arizona was in the same place and we skipped them outright, so I figured we'd follow the same pattern here and allow them to make up their picks should they ever surface.I thought he might want to take part in the draft portion since he's checking in on the board (did not have first round pick).
im not gonna say im not a little worried about his combine-->pro-day improvements and what that means for his attitude but ultimately as a 2nd round pick he's a high reward prospect with a good chance of achieving that potential even if there is some risk

To bomb it is lazy and head scratching to a lot of scouts.
