The Good, the Bad, and the Savage: Week 12 Edition

Perriman was open and when the ball finally came out it was out of bounds. I feel bad for the kid, I really do.

Joe played horrible, Savage completed more throws over 15 yards then he did. Every team seems to scheme guys open except ours smh
I’m curious to see how he’d perform on the Patriots. Surely they’d scheme him open. I really want to see what he can do with an excellent system in place and a good QB.

Can people stop blaming the OC's?

Anyone can see that Flacco is just a crap QB whos actually backup quality and the statistics show it. our O line has given him a pretty good pocket. His long balls are just all over the place, accuracy wise.

He's simply a lousy QB who's been protected by this organization to a fault and has been under no pressure as it pertains to his starting job
It’s always everyone else’s fault. No one holds him accountable. He would’ve been yanked so fast if he was on a team with a competent coaching staff.

Perriman didn’t seem to have issues before except staying healthy. When he played he looked good, now what the fuck happened?

that may be so - but marty is the most uninspiring/predictable/unimaginative/ineffective playcaller/designer we've had since flacco's been here

so i will blame the OC (that doesnt mean i dont blame flacco also - for an offence to be this bad there has to be more than 1 problem)

I just hate everyone on offense rn not named Yanda,Stanley, Collins, Woodhead, and Maclin(not his fault he’s always hurt).

Rest of the unit needs an overhaul.

This offense is a clusterfuck. Flacco holds a big part of the blame, but it’s obvious he’s not the only problem

The good - going to my first Monday night game and seeing a win, defense forcing turnovers
The bad - Hopkins couldn't be contained, Offense with a very uninspiring performance
The Ugly- Tom Savage

On another note I went to the game with a friend who's a Texan fan and I asked him what he thought of Joe and the offense. He told me that he didn't understand why the Ravens gameplan was so conservative considering how bad the Texans secondary is which I thought was interesting.

So it's his fault we can't get a semblance of a running game? Or that on 3rd and long we bring a RB, 3 TE and 1 WR and run a play action no one will believe in? Or that Wallace can't catch this inaccurate deep ball that was right in his hands?

You’re the one that’s in denial if you think Flacco will flip a switch and play elite in the playoffs. Maybe we’re watching a different QB this season because he’s been absolutely abysmal. He was at least competent in the seasons leading up to the playoffs in 2012 and 2014. I might think differently if he had more TDs than interceptions this year and didn’t check it down after his first read was covered.

Apologists, man.

All sixteen regular season games ought require a so called, "clutch" performance from a ten year veteran being paid quite handsomely.

I don't understand the leeway provided him by some fans . Or for that matter by the coaching staff one would presume . Has someone gotten in his ear regarding this? He really needs to be called to account by the owner and by the coaching staff if he hasn't already .

I realize this was done to some degree following last season but I get the feeling Joe gets to do whatever Joe wants to do . And Joe treats this as a six-month 9 to 5 job . He'd rather be somewhere else in the off-season . Not one time has he bothered to put a camp together in the off-season as so many other quarterbacks have done . I would consider this the least he could do as the leader of this team . As I said I just don't think he's that interested and wonder if we be worse off with Josh Woodrum in there …

Joe is either so deliberate in his reads that he waits for a receiver to come open at which point it's too late … (He simply cannot throw with anticipation consistently), or he dumps it off underneath prematurely, leaving a back or a tight and out to dry with two defenders closing in on them.
Joe is awful and never called out on his play. You bench Perriman for his lack of performance but not Flacco. Harb has called out perriman, Mosley, Timmy J, Alex Collins, West and others. Hint...hint, what do they have in common? It's sad I had to go here but I'll always speak the truth.

He's getting open as it is, despite Marty. Too bad he never gets the catchable ball.

And 2011 and 2014

he wasent clutch in 2014.

he threw a int on the final drive in double coverage.

that is actually the opposite of clutch.

clutch would have been ending with a TD rather then a pick.......

2011 ill give you that 1.

I think he meant that he played a really good game in 2014. Which is true. He played well enough to win. Not his fault the secondary literally had people signed off the street and Tom Brady was Tom Brady and blew TWO 14 point leads.

If we had SHAREECE WRIGHT as our CB instead of Melvin we win that game and likely make another Super Bowl apperance. DAMN YOU MELVIN

ow im not disputing any of that though.

he played very good indeed.

but he wasent clutch.

not sure where people get this from.

Clutch goes beyond a single play imo. Clutch is far more about showing up for the big games. Which Flacco has proven that he can do in the past. Something Andy Dalton and others have been horrible at. Even going back to last year, Joe showed up in a make or break game vs. Pit.

He ain't clutch anymore. But he was.

I still believe that if we surrounded Joe with more talent he'd improve. I'm well aware that we've invested more on offense money wise but our returns have been abysmal from all parties.. Flacco especially, but that doesn't excuse the others. But I ain't holding my breath. I still think we need to wait a year for a rookie QB. I don't want to see a rookie in this shit show of an offense.

thought clutch was more about showing up in the biggest moments.
like on the final drive of a game when you are going for the go ahead score.
or a TO on defense to seal the game.
or the game winning FG and stuff like that.

personally i rather see a scheme change first.
with or without the coaches.
get somebody that knows erhart perkins and see if flacco can run it or not.

guys like perriman and wallace are dangerous if you can hit them in stride and we need have them run routes to take advantage of that.

We definitely need a new scheme cause this present one is outdated!

I agree with LIT.....I am not making excuses for Joe, he clearly is not performing but his supporting cast has not been good either. When Hurst was moved to LT, I thought Joe was going to get killed. Many of those Interceptions hit receivers in the hands bounced in the air and were recovered and other interceptions were because our receivers never even tried to go and fight for the ball. Outside of a few offensive starters, I am holding them all accountable regardless of their salary. Our offense is clearly holding this team back and it seems to be getting worse, and Marty don’t seem like he has a clue on how to help his offense improve.
