The Good, the Bad, and the Savage: Week 12 Edition

I must say i saw Tim Williams get several pass rush opportunities and he looked more stiff than ZDS. He couldnt get off the RT. One play it looked like he could have bent the edge but bailed. Didnt see Bowser play much either.

Now. What i did see were 2nd year player get plenty of snaps and play well from Judon, Henry, and Peanut. This makes me think that Twill and Bowser will be much improved come year 2. They'll be more in tune with the scheme. Play faster. I feel like Twill is guessing too much

I can’t imagine how bad this team would be if we didn’t have this good of a defense. I’m not sure we would win a single game with Flacco at the helm

On a short week? Im sure things will go greeeeeaaaat
After games with several blown coverages they usually fix them the following week. Also think Jimmy and Carr took tonight personal. Wont have a big reciever vs detriot so jimmy might exact hus revenge on Jones lol

If great defense, great special teams, and a shitty offense get us to the playoffs in a weak AFC conference, than im ok with that.
The ultimate goal for any team is to win the Super Bowl, anything less doesn't really matter. This is NOT a Super Bowl winning team in any way, shape or form.

There's definitely some positives for Baltimore (Deandre Hopkins will not be a Detroit Lion next week, gimpy Stafford, leaky D aside from Slay), but Detroit has had off since Thursday and Baltimore just played. Even if all things are considered equal (which would probably be considered generous for the Ravens), the extra 4 days of rest/planning given to the Lions makes the game extremely difficult for Baltimore.

i fully expect detroit to come in to M & T and win quite comfortably.

Sadly, there is a stat that is holding true so far in 2017. Teams who play the Texans, lose the very next week.

Week 1: Jags vs Texans
Week 2: Texans vs Bengals. Jags lose to Titans
Week 3: Texans vs Patriots. Bengals lose to Packers
Week 4: Texans vs Titans. Patriots lose to Panthers
Week 5: Texans vs Chiefs. Titans lose to Dolphins
Week 6: Texans vs Browns. Chiefs lose to Steelers.
Week 7: Texans on BYE. Browns lose to Titans.
Week 8: Texans vs Seahawks.
Week 9: Texans vs Colts. Seahawks lose to Redskins
Week 10: Texans vs Rams. Colts lose to Steelers.
Week 11: Texans vs Cardinals. Rams lose to Vikings
Week 12: Texans vs Ravens. Cardinals broke the streak by upsetting the Jaguars.
Week 13: Will we lose to the Lions after facing the Texans or will we win?

So what you are saying is that its not a thing anymore. Don't see the big deal. Thanks Cardinals

If we had any type of passing attck, we'd be a bigger threat, and I'd be more confident going forward.

The defense can keep us in games and even win them. The backs are running hard particularly Alex Collins. Buck had a big team effort play for that TD.

If only we could get the ball moving through the air.

Watch us make the playoffs and all of a sudden perriman and flacco magicaly click

Honestly, that's what I think Joe is hoping for. Get to January, and then flip the switch to become January Joe.

Wait! So, you guys also believe in that theory that....if the Ravens can just make it to the playoffs; there is this magical switch that Flacco NEVER seems to turn on during the regular season, but he waits and hopes he can survive a 16 game season in order to make it to the playoffs because once he's in the playoffs.....BAM! He'll flip that mystical switch and automatically become..."January Jooooooe?"

Hopefully this game and the Packers game is a sign that the D is finally coming together.

I will say though the lack of pass rush is concerning. Our guys aren't winning the 1 on 1 battles and the Texans picked up our blitz packages pretty easily.

No. I'm sick of seeing you argue with people about this. Joe doesn't magically say "hey I'm gonna play good now" when he gets to the playoffs. In the past Joe just becomes a different animal in the playoffs. Its that simple. Its an internal "switch", he doesn't have the ability to turn it on and off, it just happens. He plays better. I'm not saying he will do it this year like in years past. Joe looks too far gone to me. I'm just arguing for the posters you quoted.

Playing Perriman instead of Camp is stupid. The best returner in the AFC (at least statistically). He can run jet sweeps. I also hope they activate Hill.

Good: finally brought back the Toss play on 4th down. It worked really well last season.

Ugly: Flacco's slides.
