So the youtube channel Schlegdaddytv came out and gave Rosen a 4th round grade.
As a guy who's watched most of the games Rosen has played in his career.. What the fuck is he thinking? He has some concerns because of his ego but has never shown to have some kind of a drug problem or anything. "But he's a rich Cali boy". Yes, because Peyton and Eli grew up poor. As did Aaron Rodgers and Andrew Luck. Smh.
"Lack of pocket presence". Okay. Did he have a pocket that often? No. UCLA did a terrible job giving him a line and a running game.
"Not a special arm". His arm is above average and he can make all the throws and I've seen him throw a 60 yarder on a line.
"Rich boy".... And? He acts like an egomaniac, not an entitled brat. I could see how that could be problematic but he's more of a Phillip Rivers type than Jay Cutler.
I'll tell you a few things I have that concern me with Rosen.
1. Injuries. Not really his fault. He's taken a massive beating during his time at UCLA. No line, shit running game, not great WRs. He needs to gain a few pounds, but he will at the NFL level.
2. While good at navigating a pocket I do have valid concerns about him being able to throw on the run. He's a pure pocket passer and not the most mobile guy. That said.. That's fine. The best QB is the one that can beat teams with his arm and nothing but his arm.
What I don't get is the love affair with Josh Allen given the guy's accuracy concerns. He's the most athletic QB in the class but he has legit concerns and is a little too raw. Anyone who throws him into the fire immediately is asking for the guy to get KILLED. Athleticism and arm strength only gets you so far at the NFL level. How will he read an NFL defense, how will he react when he has to go against LBs and DLinemen who are fast as he is in a short yard distance, which they will be at the NFL level.
I'll take the pocket passer every time. Rosen has the accuracy, the arm strength, pocket presence, ability to navigate the pocket and football IQ. He needs some coaching(his deep ball accuracy can be inconsistent at times and he does make some questionable decisions.. As most college QBs do).. But. FOURTH ROUND GRADE? I think he's the most pro ready and best QB in this class.
