The WR Thread

I was thinking more about the quick twitch, screen/slot type of player.
I forgot where but I stated I'm pissed we IR stashed him. I wish we would run screens to Camp instead of these other guys. The only deep ball receiver to ever work with Flacco was T Smith. I like Maclin a lot, but we really need something else. Especially at tightend. Our group could easily be the worst in the league, especially with Ben in his last year.

i dont think we stashed him - the timing of it was wrong for it - it sounded like he genuinely just had an awkward unfortunate injury - didnt he require surgery or am i thinking of someone else?

Not sure about the surgery, but I agree that the timing was wrong. I think if it was a true stash, he would've played in the 4 games and then be put on IR.

Watching some of James Washington tape cause I saw a mock draft with ravens selecting him. Im not a big fan. All I watch was 9 routes and slants. Just a smaller Torrey smith. But maybe that's why he's gon get drafted by us. He meets ozzies requirements for WRs.
Just hope Ozzie change his take on WRs after perriman and Moore and draft someone who's more of a route runner than just fast. You can fly past college players, but once you get to the NFL, you find out the DBs can keep up. Ask perriman.

How do you guys feel about Equanimeous St Brown? I like his saavy, smooth style and his huge catch radius, his ball tracking ability and ball skills, but I question his physicality and how he would fare against press coverage.
He's a first rounder with how polished that game is plus his speed. He may be lanky but frankly I don't care as much. He's not Mike Evans. He's Antonio Brown in AJ Green's Body. Dude reeks of a #1 WR at the NFL level if he can stay healthy.

Well I dug into his tape and I don't see a #1 guy. Could become that, but right now he gets swallowed up by press in a concerning way (see: vs North Carolina). I would rather bank on him becoming a #2 a la Marvin Jones.

Washington just looks so stiff, his running looks labored as hell. He makes some great catches but the only time he gets separation is when he runs downfield and guys underestimate his speed due to his long labored strides, that won't work in the NFL and his catching ability is solid but not enough for him to lean on at the next level. I'll pass

Idk what to label him. Hes 5'11 230. He plays more like a running back than anything else. Really reliable and productive player but whats his position?
WR through and through from what I've seen. He has the stature of a RB but his movements are that of a WR and potentially an excellent slot corner.

How you guys feel about courtland Sutton from smu? 1st round? 2nd round?

If Anthony Miller has one red flag. Its ball security. There are a number of times this year where he fumbled the ball due to poor ball security

To me Calvin Ridley is the most NFL ready WR in this class. He runs crisp routes and catches the ball really well. It would not shock me at all if well be seeing him on sundays knowing Ozzie
