RB Thread

Guice is a very good and likeable prospect but the holes are too many.
Don't people want a playmaker? I dislike this sentence but in this context it summarizes it well. Sure, we have a nice group but Guice can turn any crease into a 30+ yard gain. And even if he doesn't have it he crashes so hard it will take the soul out of front seven. He's also a great checkdown option. He can turn our play action game into a very difficult machine to stop. Is he the best option? No, obviously. But I'd be 100% excited about the pick and the player. We can select receivers afterwards. Round 1 should always be BPA anyway imo.

yeah im starting to see round 1 as a bit of a wildcard - round 2 should be receiver time because that's where the strength of the draft perfectly lines up with our need but outside of that pick (as long as it all falls well) the other 3 day 1 and 2 picks are up in the air - im hoping there's an olineman in there and maybe either another corner or a safety too...

My guess is that the BPA where we pick will be defensive player. There is also no need to spend 1st on a RB when we have pretty decent backfield already. I'd rather take top TE.

And again, already talked about it ^^, we will not pick LSU player. We just don't.

I'd like to see us pick one or two really good defensive player and then strengthen every offensive position. Guys like Taven Bryan, Armani Watts, Ogbonnia Okoronkwo or Josh Jackson are players I'd really love fo us.

Man I hope rashaad penny is there in the 3rd for us.

I've seen a couple mocks that have us taking Bryce Love in the 1st. I really like Alex Collins, so I'm a little torn on the matter

Future UDFA to watch: Dalyn Dawkins from Colorado State. This guy isn't the fastest but he runs low and hard. He runs disciplined and does everything well. Not the guy you want if you need a big play but you can get him a heavy workload and he'll keep on breaking tackles.

I'm a little surprised that John Kelly declared, but I would simply LOVE having him here. This guy is just a stud. He runs so low and so strong, he's incredible with the ball in his hands, he always makes something happen. In a strong class I expect to see him go in the 4th or 5th round and please be it as a Raven. If you don't know this guy just watch the tape.

I've watched his tape before and honestly of the backs I've watched he's my favorite. Definitely a "sleeper" in this deep class. I felt like he had a little Ray Rice to him. I'd be happy with picking him up in the middle rounds to pair with Collins and Dixon

Is that the kid from Tennessee?

I don't know about Rice but he has that twitch that you expect from a smaller back, coupled with the power of a 220 pounds guy. With Dixon we'd have a pair of super violent guys to go with a more sudden guy in Collins. That would be an amazing trio.

The reason I said Rice is the balance, the unexpected power, and the good hands out of the backfield. Both are small in height and seem to get lost inside the tackles. Either way.. I'm definitely a fan. Especially for what the investment would potentially be.

Yeah in that case I can see it.
And yes, if we have to give like a 5th for Kelly he's immense value.

I feel like this thread has gone dead. I cant help but to think that adding another back would tremendously help our offense. Lets face it, Buck is replaceable and Collins has limited potential. Woodhead may have 1 year left in him (if that) and Dixon is a big unknown. West probably wont be here either.

Enter Bo Scarborough. His name hasent been brought up much and i know there on skeptics with Bo but if he turns out and reaches his potential we could have a serious weapon on our hands.

I don't know. I remain unimpressed by Bo. If we decide to spend a day 2 pick on a back, there's bound to be better options

i believe this year is a must to draft a rb, especially with the talent that is coming out of this class, like 2018. Add that to the fact the the spicket is about to run dry starting in the 2019 class. We have taken Buck Allen 2015 and Kenneth Dixon 2016. Passed last year and need to draft another one this year. I love collins but agree, we don’t know if Dixon can stay on the field (injury Or suspension).
