RB Thread

As good as this running back class is(very), I don't see us taking one early on. Alex Collins, behind an oline with real OGs and a better RT that isn't a band aid might be a 1200 yard rusher. Kenneth Dixon is a damn good halfway house, and Woodhead is one of the better receiving backs in the game.

I'd love to get a Chubb, Love, Penny, but I don't see us taking a back until the mid rounds. We potentially have a very good committee on hand, with a back that's starting caliber in Collins to boot. Unelss Barkley falls to us, I don't see us taking a RB until like round 5 tbh. We have more pressing needs. Honestly, we probably need to double dip for WR and the oline in the offseason(not necessarily the draft)

Penny in the 2nd? Yes please
You not at least little concerned about the opponents he was running on a lot, then had 50-60 yards vs Boise and Fresno States, not exactly defensive power houses?

I mean he's really quick, big guy with good feet but it would be good to check him at Senior Bowl at least to get some better feel on him.

I think a lot of that will have to do with how the FO values Collins going into next year. Is he the lead back? Is he better served as a change of pace? Depending on the answer we're looking at 2 very different approaches.

I think the FO is going to be happy going into next season with Collins, Dixon, and Woodhead, with Buck as the emergency back. i could see us going for a receiving back that would take Buck's spot, handle returner duty, and to step in for Woodhead when he likely retires after next season.

Collins would’ve been a 1200 yard runner behind this oline if we started him earlier. He has a very good chance of hitting 1000 this year, since he’s a,ready at 825.00.

I know we have Collins and Dixon next year (assuming he can stay healthy and not suspended). However, would anyone be upset if we drafted Derrius Guice next year. I’d certainly be cool waiting until the 4th to grab a rb, but if Guice is available for the taking, I’m seriously considering it.

That happens only if Ozzie retires. He will never pick LSU player.

When Dixon comes back we will have two starting RBs. It’s easy to forget how damn good Dixon was last year

I love Guice as a prospect, but it's hard to get behind drafting him. Our holes elsewhere are just too big. At this point a top tier interior lineman would do more for our run game than another rb.

Hell yes for me. Guice is a game changer and a tone setter. Great character. Yes yes and yes.
