Joe Flacco

What do you mean Crabtree’s touchdown is probably not a touchdown...?

It was clearly a catch?
Yeah i thought it was a clear catch also

not to speak for him but i think he means that no one on last year's roster would or could have made that catch
I am so sorry. I was on mobile and didn't finish my thought. Rossi is right. No one on last year's roster makes that catch that Crabtree did make (it was for sure a touchdown and amazing situational awareness.)

they got open in ways that our previous receiving corps did not - the clear difference is that they complement each other and they have clear skillsets that allow them to get open in acres of space
I'll be interested to go back and watch it, but I've always pointed to this- Joe was perfectly capable of making Kamar Aiken and Chris Givens look good in 2015. Like, Aiken actually looked like a really dependable receiver in the NFL in 2015 and we all know that didn't exactly continue on track.

Point being, I don't like this excuse of needing receivers to perform well because Flacco had a lot of inconsistencies last year that were alarming when his receivers were open and he'd make bad throws.

This is the Joe that we know is capable of being unleashed every single week. This is the Joe that is putting the ball on the money on every single throw and making great reads with great mechanics.

i think it was so he could start the momentum of his leg coming down so he could jump high but also have a better chance of getting the foot down - that would be my guess
Agree and it seemed he ended up using that leg as brake to keep him from going out of bounds

There is fight in these receivers as a whole that I have not seen in recent memory.

The exception is Steve Smith of course.

Yup. They play with an edge. Loved how we went right back to Brown for the TD and he got in Poyer's face for talking smack the play before. Flacco looked sharp. Hope he can maintain a level of play. I don't expect perfection each game, but don't want to see any of the floors he displayed last year. John Brown will show out if he stays healthy and can't wait for Hurst to come back.

Flacco obviously looked better but this receiving corps isn't servicable, it's good. It's not elite or amazing, but it has three good route runners with good hands with different skillsets that compliment each other ideally. I do think that Flacco actually being healthy this go around does have a big role.. He has a rapport with each of them, though least of all Snead. He gets that third down play that we missed yesterday down with Snead and this offense is going to be a top 10 passing unit.

Of course, we need to fix the run blocking.

We come out of the first game stretch at .500(I think we can go 4-0, but more likely 3-1) and we can very well win this division. This team reaches it's full potential it can beat just about anyone.

i just hope hayden hurst comes back healthy and can contribute

and given how lethal our DL rotation was imagine how unreal it'll be with willie henry back in the lineup

Ooph! I actually forgot about him for a second. Can't wait to get a good look at Wormley and Urban from yesterday.

I totally forgot about Henry’s absence as well. Damn our DL will be scary as hell if Wormley has taken that next step like he seems to have done.

From what I remember Wormley looked really solid. If he turns out to be a legit high end 5tech then holy shit. The only thing we need is another 3tech for rotating and we could have a high end 1 and 2 for each position. Then there’s also sieler waiting in the wings who I’m still convinced will end up a very good player.

I know not many were high on him coming out of school, but I liked him coming out of school and thought we would be a better fit for him then Michigan. I see him as a good fit as a 5 Tech, with a lot of versatility.

I think the distaste for Wormley was less the player and more who we missed out on. We could’ve had Eiflein or Feeney in a small trade up and he’s another defensive lineman

Mike Freeman recently wrote an article about Matt Ryan where he made the really piss poor joke "Matt Flacco" about four times to talk down on Matt Ryan.

I would love to see his big, stupid face after the clinic put on by Flacco.

I was pissed mostly because Tim Williams fell to the third fucking round and we’re passing on him, since I had Tim as the third edge rusher and 2nd most pro ready and an unquestioned top 20 talent.

I’m just glad we were able to get him and that he’s currently not making us all look stupid.

Yeah him too he was another guy. We rectified it but still that was the sentiment. I thought Wormley was OK but I wanted other guys available or close to available before him and was screaming for us to trade up

If it took a 4th to move up for elflein and we got elflein and Williams instead of Wormley-Williams-Siragusa, yeah I’ll take that shit all day

It was one game, at home, against a very weak team. Flacco has played full seasons with only one noteworthy game many times.

However, Flacco looked as good that game as he did in the 2012 Playoff Run. It could be the receivers have helped and he looked comfortable with Crabtree and Brown. I'm optimistic, but cautious. Lets see how Flacco plays vs a Division Rival on the road. Bellweather game and Have to say, I'm excited.

Am pumped to be playing without Perriman, Wallace and Camp.

I agree, but with the team as whole. I want to see the defense to this again against an actual NFL level offense on Sunday. Don't expect the exact same performance, but see if we can still generate that type of pressure while covering wrs with real talent.

Perfectly thrown ball and Crab made a nice catch.
Did you notice him kick his leg up in the air before touching down? Not sure what that was about but it made it look a bit more "dramatic". lol

Crabtree kicked his leg upward in that manner so that he could better "position" his footing in bounds once he brought it down after the catch. A physics thing. Nice!
