Verse did great with LAR and has a lot of upside as a talent. I don’t think the Browns lost this trade if we view it for what it is. They got a great young player who isn’t a generational talent like Garrett but was still a large contributor for them and seen widely as a massive success as a draft pick. He’s no scrub and if you point to his stats as an explanation, it also took Garrett some years to break out as a game wrecker. I don’t think he is Garrett, but that’s because he’s special. I think the Browns know that but I think they see it as they didn’t win games or go very far with Garrett, either. They don’t have a QB and that is holding them back.
I think the Rams paid a high price for Garrett. The question is how much value does Verse have? I’d say conservatively he holds at least a value of a first round pick.
