2026 Offseason Thread

I'm so happy the Crosby trade fell through, and so happy the trade with the Lions fell through. Much rather have Vega at 14 than risk him not being there at 17.

I’d take Crosby over Trey even if it’s just a season of Crosby compared to 3 seasons of Trey, no question.

I would absolutely 100% take Trey, ioane, and Zion over Crosby.

I’ve said since February that ioane might be the single biggest net upgrade this team could find this offseason and I still believe that. Our guard play was so bad last year that getting a safe long term high end guard is literally a game changer, you can’t have your Franchise qb getting hit in the face and his feet stepped on.
Id take two yrs or crosby instead of 3 from trey. I feel like this season, we gonna have some growing pains..

Preseason games wack. Mfs be balling and you think they have some potential but then you never see or hear from them again
To me it's more than this. It gives you an opportunity to see some people fighting for a job and whether or not it pans out is yet to be seen. That's why I don't want them to get rid of another preseason game. It will just make it even harder for these back of the roster UDFAs and late round draftees.

Mostly because they ball against a bunch of other guys you'll never see or hear from again. It's the practice reps that matter the most because that's when the guys that are making it are getting reps against stars and not a bunch of other guys that are going to be out of the league soon. It's not fool proof of course, and there are certainly things you can take away from PS games, but they definitely matter much less than they used to.

Most of the time, if you get a rotational guy at the back end of the roster out of a UDFA class, you're doing well. If you get a low level starter, you're doing great. If you get anything more than that, count yourself lucky.

It's the only worthy of PS, the tape on 2nd & 3rd stringers, which is better to watch on youtube. The starters play in the joint practices and you're even more likely to get a sense of new schemes there too.

literally the most insight we ever got on a roster was the panthers joint practice year when panthers fans streamed the whole 2 days of practices back in 2021

it's why i hate preseason grades without context
when you enter a preseason game has more to do with your chances of making a roster than your play in said preseason game
if a guy is balling in the 2nd half and didn't play in the 1st half - it's not real

I'm almost sure it'll change again because well, it's an open competition...

But Pinter seems to have taken the lead at C and they want to keep running him out there with the other presumed starters as of now. Seems like Bullock has fallen back and they may be giving him more G looks for now. We'll see how it shakes out but seems they've made the shift to Ledford's guys getting the run instead of the holdover.
