2026 Offseason Thread

I’d agree with this.

I think Harbaugh is corny and I think so is McDaniel. Doesn’t mean I didn’t want McDaniel as a HC, but I had some real reservations. He’ll be an elite OC though.

But KVN has those vibes where he could pull it off but let’s see how he is as a DC or positional coach first
Yeah like when Harbaugh or even McDaniel is speaking fiery, trying to be motivational, etc. it doesn’t come off well and you can feel the collective eye rolls from the whole room. I have SEEN KVN on many Wired episodes being both a cornball to keep the energy loose and at the same time being real, inspirational, and level headed at all the right times, and I’ve seen the young dudes feed off of it.

whenever he was speaking on wired i always cringed a bit
didnt seem convincing at all - but almost like he had to do it because there was no one else

Well now I’m going to be really hurt if we don’t end up with McDaniel as OC

Dennard Wilson to the Giants as their DC

i think i'm mostly just feeling more and more confident that it's not kliff - i think if kliff was the guy, he'd be here already

mcdaniel is the dream
but i'd also be happy with Webb, Scheelhaase or Brady (who i know not many are fond of here)

It does feel like it won't be Kliff because if it was, he should've been announced by now as he's available.

It’s going to be either McDaniel, Webb, or Nate. We would’ve made the hire by now if we didn’t have to wait for the latter two. I’m pretty confident (and erect) it’ll be one of those three

there's so much buzz around Webb being this wunderkind type guy

you know my feelings on mcdaniel
but was really impressed by what i saw of Scheelhaase when looking him up when i saw it was reported that he was getting an interview

If we’re talking OC, I’d prefer McDaniel then Scheelhaase. Webb is a distant third to those two. If we’re waiting on Broncos and Rams to be out I’d rather we just sign McDaniel

Ravens may need to just go on a heads and trade Bateman. Bro ain't never happy and his inconsistent hands along with Zay inconsistent hands probably just don't match well.

It costs us more money against the cap to trade or cut him than just keep him

I saw from the link below that if he's traded post June 1 that his cap hit would be something they could work with cap wise for 2026. Not sure if that is correct

Random thought, I know that Marlon has been fading, but he still makes plays. At what point do we consider moving him to Safety?

He seems like the guy that could make that transition. Kind of a crowded room there right now, but he has been better inside most his career.
So a) the whole "transition from Corner to Safety" thing isn't a common occurrence in the league. It's happened, but it's not like every team just transitions older Corners to Safety. I'm not really sure he's a Safety type.
And b) I don't understand why we would want another Safety anyway. I don't think he's a bad enough corner to that he needs a positional change, and we already have two Safeties firmly locked into roster/starting spots. And you could probably bring Washington back for the vet min if you really wanted.

Bateman effectively can't be moved. Mid-season, if the year is in the toilet, maybe.
A trade is pretty much impossible financially before the season starts.

I think Minter and EDC make that call but he's going to need to take a pay cut this coming season. 27m is way too much for him.
$26.2M is the cap number. The paycut would be on $19.2M, since that's what he's actually scheduled to make.
If he thinks he could make $19.2M or more in year 1 on the open market, he should refuse the paycut.

Roquan largely in the same spot, though he has two years left.

Then you just eat more money on the 2027 cap. You're taking on more of a cap hit to move him either way, whether this year or a combo of 26 and 27. He certainly was a disappointment but I don't see anything that says you take more of a hit to get rid of him. I'm not sure you count on him but I think there's a lot more value in taking a shot at the rebound than just moving on entirely for minimal return.

I could absolutely see Humphrey cut this season, but it's also possible they restructure him if Minter wants to keep him. I'm aware that the 19.2m is what he is scheduled to make though. We save 7m cutting him and that savings may not be enough for them to outright get rid of him either, especially being one year removed from All Pro.

I don't think Ro is going anywhere, but yes he's in the same position.
