Coaching Carousel 2026

Pumped for Co-Cap. Had a feeling it was headed this route. They fucking love that dude.
I'm happy for Co-cap but I'd be lying if I said it doesn't unnerve me somehow. Why did we wait this long without having his name in the coordinator ring? Why such a late hire? Was he a consolation prize after we lost Horton or some other coordinator we were expecting to hire? Weaver's name was leaked well ahead of time as our DC. Why not co-cap's? These are some of the questions that give me pause, but on an emotional level, I love that Levine Sr. stays home as our ST coordinator. He is the one guy that used to come out talk to fans when he played...

Levine was the favorite all along once they let Horton walk

I definitely heard Co-Cap was an option. I’m hoping he can get our STs playing better tho. I am a little nervous about that part

Okay... that makes me feel better already.
Don't think there was necessarily as much urgency because they blocked him from a lateral move and he only interviewed for 1 promotion opportunity and they went elsewhere. He was already in the building and under contract, so they weren't fighting anyone off for him. He's "had the job" for some time even if it wasn't formally announced until yesterday.

And Ben Kotwica gets the assistant ST role. So that should fill out the staff outside of maybe some lower level analysts and things of the sort.

I’m curious what kind of coaching staff Kubiak can create at this point. It feels like most of the names are taken. I’m glad we got our guy early and filled out the staff accordingly
unless they had been doing things behind the scenes it absolutely makes things more difficult for coaches that come form the SB teams.

Well I’d assume he’s bringing his OL guy and Dennison with him. And I read Schwartz was the main target for DC. I would assume he would take some of his guys in Cleveland. They will definitely have less guys to choose from but I think Oakland is finally willing to give a coaching staff some time so he may be able to make changes after year 1.

It might take a year to get all the underlings lined up, but you can't go wrong with Kubiak handling the OFF and Schwartz on DEF. That division is tough, tho. Still, gotta figure they'll be better than the shitfest last few years... even by a couple games and upset or two.
