Coaching Carousel 2026

I think the big thing with all of this is that yeah, maybe he hasn’t called the plays. But he’s damn sure designed a portion them and has a large input into the flow of the game. He’s not sitting there idle doing nothing all week.
Before he got hired ben johnson basically said that he wanted some relentless and watches film to find weaknesses and strengths for the opponents…. On actual game day, he doesnt really much besides remind ben on timeouts and what downs and what not they were on

we know he can install a gameplan and run meetings and communicate
literally all we don't know is whether he can call plays in sequence lol

and tbh with Lamar, if you build systems around him, he can make your bad playcall right if the structure around him allows him to

with doyle you're buying systems and scheme and creativity and if you get great playcalling on top then even better

Hire Jim Leonhard as DC

Hire Weaver as Assistant HC ala Leslie Frazier in Seattle to MacD and let’s ride!

Bears fans big mad

I came to post this. Doyle was spoken highly of by both Ben Johnson and Sean Payton. Those are two guys that I doubt put their name on the line for just anyone.

I would assume that he has learned quite a bit from them when it comes to the sequencing of plays especially since it sounded like he’s been working by toward this since he was in elementary school.

We might have gotten one of those offensive masterminds! I like the upside

Orr learned under Pees, Wink , and MacDonald along with Harbaugh. I think it would be bad idea to have Doyle run the show without some senior assistance or passing game coordinator because not only do coordinator needs help but this is Doyle first chance to call plays which might go great or might go real bad . It's a exciting choice but risky as well
Considering his age, most of the staff will be senior to him, likely more experienced, too.

That's understandable but you could probably also say the same thing about Rick Dennison when he was a offensive coordinator for Gary Kubiak. Some may not know but it's true coordinators that don't call plays are in charge with implementing schemes and game planning . They play a crucial role for the head coach that is the play caller but some are just better off as coordinators without play calling duties which I call as technicans and then you have those that are play callers. When it comes to Doyle right now we don't know if he's simply just a great technician or hell of a play caller. We are more excited from his coaching background given whom his mentors were and possibly his age which is understandable.

I definitely respect that point of view and I'm excited by the hire. I have no ideas what's he's going to run and what his offensive philosophy/ system will be but we shall see.

Just stalking their sub-Reddit. They’re bummed, just like every other fan of someone we poached. Money-Mint has been on fire

Like any young coach, we'll see a young, physical, fast, electric, chaotic team (hopefully controlled chaos), and, according to their mentors, great protectors of their QB.
A tall offensive lineman or wide receiver is very important in the draft.

Seems odd that the Ravens were so enamored with Brady.

Carolina fans didn't like him. Buffalo fans felt like he only excelled because Josh operated outside of the structure of his offense so often.

I honestly wouldn't be TOO shocked if the Ravens were baiting the Bills there.

I'm a bit surprised Webb didn't seek an opportunity to call plays, but I suppose he figures he was already a popular name in HC searches, so he'll get a job eventually with or without play calling duties.
