Coaching Carousel 2026

Regardless, we need more discipline in the precession ugly football in play calling and execution. If I'm Steve, that is the 2nd thing im focused on, after making Lamar happy

Interesting. I think the big part of it was his frustration with the QB he rightly didn't want but....

He acknowledged it later, though, probably deserves another shot.

Mike McDaniel is still the Head Coach in Miami. Unless us firing Harbaugh is going to make a team suddenly fire their guy to go all in on Harbaugh or something like that. I remember @Simba mentioning that if Lamar had left a couple years ago, we were going to go after Baker. I think Tampa would be the perfect spot for John, Harbaugh then gets to work with Baker in Tampa with that talented team they already have. Plus it's a soft division, and even then Atlanta would also work for Harbaugh. Harbaugh will likely chase the big money from the Giants but I think he'd be better off in Tampa or Atlanta.

Ravens looked at baker to be a backup but he went somewhere he had more chances to start

I think the first point maybe gives EDC some more time under a new HC. JH - We can do it with these guys if we can just_______... I wonder how much influence JH had in the draft room. It seems to me there had been a shift from drafting position players to versatility. Versatility has always signaled to me less competency at a specific position and more of the vague ability to "maybe" do something within a system. I hope they get away from what they've been doing with Hamilton, for example. He's a S and could be a great one, but because he can be versatile, he's been playing a lot of LB. I know this is not the best example because this kind of arose out of necessity, but my point is if they'd draft LB's instead of hybrids that are more DE's than LB's, we'd be better off. I think JH had a big voice in choosing "versatility" over specific positional strength.

Versatility doesn’t mean you can’t master a position

Versatility on the OL makes it easier to get the best 5 OL starting

Versatility in the front 7 and secondary allows you to present different looks and disguises more effectively

One of the strengths of our best defensive player is his versatility

I know it's been mentioned already, but put me in the camp of going outside of the Harbaugh tree and staying away from Minter. I wouldn't be mad if he got the job, but I also just would love to see something different. A new era of sorts.

For me Minter is a macdonald guy more than a Harbs guy

Would be most excited about an offensive guy but if we end up with a defensive guy like Minter, chris Shula or Jeff Hafley I’d be pretty happy from a schematic standpoint

I bet BB would take the job because his ties to Maryland + the chance to take down Andy Reid and Vrabel. But Lamar's play making style wouldn't mesh at all with Bill's vision (old Lamar would tho). I know most people would be opposed, but I promise you any way we have lost the last 4 years wouldn't happen with Bill. I bet Lamar would buy knowing how great his shot at a SB would be.

In theory it could make sense where Bill comes back for only about 2 years to win one, then we snatch an elite HC when the talent pool holds more options. IMO - while there are many pretty good coach options - this year really lacks some stand out names.
I agree and been saying this alot. Bb teams were way too disciplined to lose the way we have been losing! bill would need a good OC and its not really many out there so thats dead. Would be sick if he was willing to be a DC though lol

Doesnt sean mcvay call the plays though? Wouldnt mind him and could possibly be a risk but if we are trying to win now, is that a good idea? The staff he would bring with him would likely be incredible though like joey said. I like klint because he has full control of the offense and sam darnold ass but they make him look pretty good.

Would definitely be a risk with Mike lafleur although at least he has some previous playcalling experience

One last thing I heard for the night…

Harbaugh approached that meeting as if he was safe. Doesn’t sound like Bisciotti appreciated that too much. Didn’t get the fight he was looking for.

In which case it’s a microcosm of all the issues he’s had the last few years.

Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Metaphorically just gave up another two score 4th quarter lead…

Kind of a sad story if he gets fired… buddy waited 20+ years for his time. Only to fail and get x’d.

Luckily, EDC seems like a smart guy. Humble enough to know where he’s messing up and tries to correct it. Unlike that arrogant terrorist.

He has consistently shown the ability to adapt and adjust both over an offseason and in-season

The level of self-scouting and self-evaluation in the front office is top-notch - one of the key elements that keeps them at the top of the game

Lamar performance in Roman offense and Monken offense is not the same. I truly believe Lamar needs a tough coach that's going to press the need to play with sound throwing mechanics at all times. That's what Todd Monken was and thats what lead to Lamar having back to back MVP seasons regardless if Monken personality didn't necessarily mesh all that well with Lamar. Regardless if the next head coach is offensive or defensive mind I think this is important.

Monken hasn’t done anything with Lamar’s mechanics…

What he did was give Lamar the keys to the offence and open up the passing attack within the scheme

I feel like Brian Flores would be a really good coach here.

The side of the ball that needs the turnaround and new identity clearly is the defense, and that’s a sad state of affairs for the ravens. We can’t have it here.

Flores brings big dog energy that we desperately need, we’ve had a choir boy head coach for so long that our team took on that identity, they got soft, lost their determination, it’s all in gods hands to harbaugh, but no we gotta go out there and fucking take it, Flores brings that.
I don’t think they are going to do it.

But I would love it.

Jim Schwartz is in consideration to be the next Browns HC and also is someone the owner publicly stated they want to retain. I doubt he is moved
I understand. I'm saying the path to him staying as a DC is a lot harder than the path to him staying as HC. Regardless of what Haslam wants.
