I didn’t notice we seem to be on the opposite side of the spectrum on the offensive side of the ball. Besides Doyle and Woolfork, everyone else has years of nfl experience.
Front office pretty smart. Hiring guys with offensive play calling experience. I like the hires.. still worried aboht doyle though
What is his offense? Do the fans even know what its gonna look like?I'm more worried about Doyle now than I was. Feels like they're putting guardrails on him instead of guys that will actually mesh with his offense (except Ledford).
We don’t know officially but it’s being assumed as PGC. Which was his current title in LA but I’m assuming McDaniel probably let him leave because he wants his own guys.so with the defensive side accounted for, still no clarity on chuck smith as far as im aware
only definite holdover from the previous staff is Tyler Santucci
tons of college coaches anchored by Minter and Weaver
on offence, it's Doyle, Woolfork and then experience and pedigree everywhere
do we know what marcus brady's role is yet?
For me this feels like future proofing the offense. If/when Doyle becomes a HC somewhere our offense will stay well coached regardless of who we get calling plays.I'm more worried about Doyle now than I was. It helped that Lamar improved his passing game in 2019 compared to his rookie year, but my goodness, our running game that year (including Lamar) was the stuff of not just gods, but immortals. If it was anyone other than Harbaugh doing this it would be great. Greg Roman very well might be the greatest pure run game coordinator of all time and that’s not an exaggeration.
The problem with John harbs making this hire though, is by mid 2027 they’re gonna be months into hitting a wall and harbaugh is gonna fire Nagy and promote Roman to save his own ass, and they’re gonna rinse and repeat.
he's from the sean peyton tree so I'd assume it will have some of those wrinkles including some from ben johnsonWhat is his offense? Do the fans even know what its gonna look like?
2019 was Roman’s finest moment, no question about that, but he went crazy with shady and tyrod in Buffalo, and took Colin kaepernick to a Super Bowl with that run game too.It helped that Lamar improved his passing game in 2019 compared to his rookie year, but my goodness, our running game that year (including Lamar) was the stuff of not just gods, but immortals.
He also fizzles out. Does insanely well to build a rushing attack with the personnel he’s got. Then the league adjusts and he just… doesn’t. It’s weird considering he can work with so many different styles but can’t adjust when the league does.2019 was Roman’s finest moment, no question about that, but he went crazy with shady and tyrod in Buffalo, and took Colin kaepernick to a Super Bowl with that run game too.
I’ve never not given Roman his due when it comes to the run game, that dudes brain works different. If he could implement some kind of at least competent passing game that plays off of that he’d be a revolutionary.
It’s really strange. If you wanna win a chip with Roman calling plays you gotta do it fast. He’s got a year or two of ridiculous run game with a team and then it’s doesn’t become bad or anything, but he goes from borderline historic seasons to better-than-good seasons once it runs its course. He also fizzles out. It doesn't say what they're hiring him as though... have you heard if he is a pass game coordinator here as well?Based on his history, this doesn’t seem like a great hire. Greg Roman offense, colts, and eagles.
