2026 OL Thread

This seems to confirm my point. If he started as a LTtwo years ago and was then moved full-time to right-hander, it doesn't inspire confidence. He might be a swing, but as a Lamar protector, it raises a lot of questions for me.
I prefer someone with extensive experience in the position as the starter.

I'm not saying he's a bad player, just that we already have a RT.

Anyway, the main thing is to replace Faalele. If Fano can play there, that would be good, but not as a LT.

he moved from left to right because he played RT in high school and utah had caleb lomu come in at LT

my general thinking is that fano could play either side but obviously has more comfort at RT

I think Fano CAN play OT at a starting level, but I think he’s got all pro G ceiling.

We have no shot at drafting him, but if somehow he’s available, take him without a thought, immediate starter at G and a massive boost to your line, if he doesn’t work out at OT, awesome, you have an elite guard.

Even if we miss the playoffs I think Fano is a pipe dream, but get Emmanuel pregnon on this fucking team expeditiously!

i really like Pregnon - he's probably the most realistic option of all the guys i've got preliminary 1st round grades on of making it to our pick (depending on where we pick of course)

to your point
i think he's just a good OL prospect - i'd probably prefer him at tackle but you're right it could be more of a Tyler Smith situation where you draft him as an OT and you have a need at OG so you shift him inside and then he's too good at OG to actually move back out to OT

Tbf a ginger mullet mf brings his lunch pail and there’s nothing in it but a pack of Marlboro reds, which clearly is ideal guard material

the mistake we made with Ben Cleveland is that while he gave off some of those kinds of vibes
he didn't have the unhingedness to be a "finisher"

Kelechi osemele

i dont see kelechi osemele in him at all tbh - KO was never really a guy who could survive at tackle
fano to me (as i've said before i think) feels more like a charles cross/christian darrisaw type stylistically
No no I’m not comparing them as players, just that he was drafted as a OT and initially played OT and quickly moved to guard because he was so totally elite there

I really like Pregnon. If we can get him on Day 2 that’s a no brainier for me. If we can somehow get a stud at EDGE with the first and Pregnon on RD2 assuming Madubuike is healthy I feel very confident in our rebound. We draft a DL in RD3 and hot damn I’m stoked

Francis Mauigoa. Football Player.
I watched every offensive snap from the Miami ole miss game, early on he didn’t seem to get much movement in the run game, and he gradually got stronger as the game went on, and then he absolutely dominated the 4 quarter to salt the clock away. He was athletic, combo blocks, blocking out in space, and he just blasting mfs off the ball, was the point of attack in the last 2 drives quite a few times and was generating big space and getting easy 5+ yard runs, often.

i wasnt particularly moved by the ole miss game tbh
like i think he's a good prospect (really solid) but idk that i see the domination and consistency of an elite prospect

still got a loose 1st round grade on him but i worry about his range and foot quickness on an island up the arc as a tackle and i also don't see consistent sustain and finish in his blocking
