The “It’s Over”, the Offense, and the Turnovers

I think a change is going to happen. Might just be cope, but the team as a whole looks uninterested. EDC can step aside and let Steve take care of business. EDC helping Harbs move since they’re neighbors is gonna be real awkward though
Harbaugh can help EDC move too. Bring in a new GM from Philly or Detroit that emphasizes building in the trenches as I've been saying.

We live in hope man. Idk what combo I’d want. Defensive HC with McDaniel like nerd as OC. Or an offensive HC coach.

I think Harbs is gonna be here but it would be crazy if we waste another season where we regress and we don’t change something significant. I’m so done with Harbs it’s crazy, his press, his locker room speeches just pmo.

He’s surprised me this year, maybe he just isn’t good. Andrews is way better
Andrews is wayyyyy better than Likely. Not to say Andrews done have his problems lol. Even Kolar man, you don’t get the YAC out of him but he’s a great blocker, got great hands, good in the redzone.

Likely is just our substitute for not having an Alpha receiver so we put up with having a fluid Tight end. Whiffed a couple blocks last night, no way I’d be paying him.

Pay Jones and Stout. Idc bout the rest.

Eight.

Honestly, I have a weird take in that I am actually encouraged by the offense yesterday. Yes they had way too many turnovers but this was the first game you started to see glimpses of the actual Ravens offense. The fact that there were mistakes is concerning but less concerning than the past few weeks where it looked like a shell of itself. At least with this version you can look at the game and go "okay just execute better".

They did move the ball when we went to the air. It required a lot of improv from Lamar though and I’m not a fan of that

Lamar needs to learn to play tight, take what they give you games. That's why mahomes always wins big moments. Lamar goes for the big play every moment we aren't up by a decent amount. We will never win tight or elite teams / games without taking what they give us. His ball security in big games too makes no sense, so many awful fumbles

yep...

someone on the sidelines has to remind him "aye big dog, you aint got to do too much all the time"

If there's anything that becomes Harbaugh's undoing, it's this. We make a mistake and we reel. There's no mental toughness. No mental fortitude. We make a mistake and we compound it with more mistakes.
I wanted Harbaugh out a long time ago, but I tire of harping on it. This team has a real problem recovering. There have been occasions where adjustments were made, but all too often that's just not the case. I have always thought that THAT is on coaching; and since it extends over many seasons, the common denominator is JH. I was really hoping he'd be replaced when we resigned Lamar - new coach, specifically with Lamar in mind. But after making no effort to get Sean Payton - who would have been a GRAND SLAM for Lamar, I've given up the "replace Harbaugh crusade."

I'll be glad when he's gone, but in the meantime, I know to go to bed or cut the grass or adjust my audio equipment when they aren't looking cohesive. I didn't want to say anything negative, but I just felt like this was a game we were not going to win, for all the reasons I mentioned in an earlier post: If we win we're in the driver's seat and can hope for a Steeler's loss to double that up. But I knew that is not our history... we lose the games like that frequently and then have to scrape and claw our way into contention. So when the Steeler's win tomorrow, that will put us in our normal position: the double whammy - a division and conference loss for us and a conference win by the our main competitor. Pow and pow! Two down.

It's really pitiful.

It’s exactly what Henry went through earlier in the season with his fumbles. Now we are seeing him with 5 points of contact each time he carries the ball.

These are basic fundamentals that this team does not care about until it actually punishes them. These are veteran players who still struggle with this concept.

Also can we stop telling players to stop diving for the goal line. How many times will a ball get knocked loose before players realize it’s not worth it. With how bad the redzone offense is, the team probably feels like they have to score 30 yards out to put 7 on the board.

@Simba Given that Biscotti was at the game and that he didn't seem too happy. What is your guy hearing in terms of potential changes before Pittsburgh? Are we really stuck with Monken until the end of the year? Harbaugh, I get not firing until the end of the year but Monken or Orr has got to go to try to salvage the remainder of the season.

Idk I get what you mean but I would argue we’ve seen what Lamar playing tight in the playoffs looks like and it’s just as bad as him playing loose.

This team under Lamar has really not been good when forced to play in structure. Lamar has never really been an anticipatory, throw on time QB. And I don’t put that 100% on Lamar, when have the Ravens had a guy who consistently won downfield within 4 seconds of the play?

I really do think the best Lamar is a loose Lamar and you get really explosive plays, even yesterday, where his backyard ball shines. And the team does not have the o-line for him to be Superman this year.

My guy is hearing that you're overreacting. I'd say simply that nothing would surprise me, but firing someone in the middle of the season rarely results in anything positive for a team in contention. Cam Cameron is an extreme outlier.

Steve Young has been saying for years that the Ravens have not asked him to do it and they refuse to start shifting him to this.

Lots of gm try to build in the trenches but it doesnt always work! Edc has done pretty well with the positions he was in! If we are picking in the mid to late 20s every year, its really tough

Then you probably have to keep some of the guys you already have if you can't find more. Looks like Mekari, Zietler, and Morgan Moses really mattered, John Simpson might have mattered.

I am with you, picking mid to late can be tough but then that means we need to keep what we have if it's working and make sure the guys we have in the wings are ready.

This isn't hindsight. Said from the move the only one of those we should have kept was Zeitler. The others made perfect
sense.

The loss looked bad. Lamar was awful and even when he wasnt someone else found a way to make a mistake. This loss doesn't really change much. Team controls its own fate but some changes need to be made in philosophy in the offseason.
