Next Up: @ Browns

He does and I understand them not wanting him against the run and @rmcjacket23 's point on the no special teams, but I think he's the perfect guy for games like the jets and browns where you get him valuable reps early and let him try the hand against the run if we're up big. I think this guy is a true stud and we need our young guns playing meaningful snaps earlier (doing great with MS, Mg, and teddy b) instead of waiting until their contract year to find out we have a ~5-7 sack potential Dt
I agree! I really wanna see peebles play. Shit if ojabo has gotten snaps, peebles should be able to get some

Is Peebles really THAT bad vs the run? It completely overshadows his pass rush ability?

He doesn’t win within the scheme
His wins against the run are via quick risky penetrations - that means if he gets it wrong it opens up huge holes

Right now he’d be more suited to a more traditional 4-3 1-gapping type defence

He doesn’t have the technique or mass to 2-gap to free up the 2nd level guys which is what’s been working for us so well since he was benched

Ok hamilton, 3rd week in a row im betting on you to get sack.. word around town, macdonald telling everyone that nick emmanowri better than you

I'm full on scorned right now. Mike got his temu Lamar and dollar general Hamilton and is living his best life right now like we ain't shit.

I wouldn't say this is a must win this week, but it sure would be nice. We need to build conference wins given we still have NE and Pitt x2. If we can manage to win 3 of the 4 next games, we'll be in very good position for the last 3 games. GB is the only non conference game left, all others are conference games, with 5 - including this week - being Division games.

I always like wins in games like these where we clearly should make up some ground, but I feel like our history is we don't quite do it and then have to keep scraping towards the top where every game counts.

I think the situation this year is much different than any the team has faced. Such a terrible and unfortunate start to the season where they were expected to be great has made pretty much every game more meaningful than just a "regular season" contest. Could be a blessing in disguise as it helps to prepare for win or go home tournament games, if we make it there.

very different skillsets though
would be square peg, round hole

Bate is a guy who wins with change of direction and elite throttle-down lower body mechanics
Tez is a linear, vertical route-runner
DHop is a boundary X with a very vertical based route tree

where you align and how you're used are not the same thing
I think you took my comments too literally. I didn't mean Tez could exactly replicate Bate's skillset or usage, more so fill the hole created by his absence.

I can't find the article now, but had read where they were working with Walker to become a more complete receiver, focusing on refining his skills in underneath routes and improving his ability to get open in shorter spaces. It also mentioned that the team thought he was limited to vertical routes in college by strategy and usage, not by a lack of ability, and that he was a quick learner.

if he's ready to fill that role, why's he been inactive most weeks?

Don't like hearing Green was limited in practice yesterday, may be nicked.

After missing Wednesday’s practice with knee soreness, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was a full participant Thursday as the team continued its preparations for Sunday’s game in Cleveland.
“It feels good,” he told reporters after practice. “I’m good.”
Jackson previously missed three games with a hamstring injury he suffered in a Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. But coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday that the injury is unrelated and he was optimistic Jackson “should be OK” to play against the Browns.

Offensive coordinator Todd Monken added Thursday that Jackson “looked great,” and Jackson said his knee feels fine. He didn’t specify when the injury arose.
“Playing football, things like that happen,” he said.

The Ravens’ 27-19 win Sunday over the Minnesota Vikings was Jackson’s second game back from injury. He played every offensive snap, as he did the previous week in a 28-6 win over the Miami Dolphins.
If Jackson cannot play, Tyler Huntley would get the nod. Huntley, who was signed to the 53-man roster Oct. 24, took over backup duties after the team lost two straight games with Cooper Rush starting.
Huntley relieved Rush in the fourth quarter of the Ravens’ 17-3 loss to the Los Angeles Rams and gave the offense a spark. Coming out of the team’s Week 7 bye, he led the Ravens to a 30-16 win over the Chicago Bears, their first victory without Jackson since December 2022.

The Ravens (4-5) beat the Browns (2-7) at M&T Bank Stadium in Week 2, 41-17, before going on a four-game losing streak. With a fourth straight win Sunday, the Ravens would finish their first sweep of Cleveland since 2020 and get their record back to .500.
While Jackson returned Thursday, the Ravens were missing two other starters and four players total.
Wide receiver Rashod Bateman, who Harbaugh said sprained his ankle on a hip-drop tackle against Minnesota, remained out, as did running back Justice Hill, who has a toe injury. Hill was in the locker room after practice and appeared to be moving well.
Harbaugh on Wednesday ruled out cornerback Marlon Humphrey for Week 11 after he underwent surgery on his finger. Undrafted rookie linebacker Jay Higgins injured his knee against the Vikings, and Harbaugh said that, although it’s not season-ending, he’ll be out a few weeks.
Tight end Isaiah Likely (hip), running back Keaton Mitchell (knee) and rookie safety Malaki Starks (knee) were upgraded to full participation Thursday after being limited Wednesday.

Rookie outside linebacker Mike Green, however, was limited Thursday after being full go on Wednesday, an indication that the second-round pick likely suffered an injury in practice.
Harbaugh is scheduled to address reporters after practice Friday.

Think Jeff Z said Green was walking with a pretty hefty limp in the locker room...

So why draft him? You took a 6th rdr hoping he could be a role player that does one thing. He shows that he's really good at that one thing all Tc and PS. Now they claim that doing the 1 thing doesn't fit the defense.

You draft him because he didn't sign a one year contract. This isn't some new concept where player development only occurs through in-game reps and that late round picks are automatically busts if they don't play early and often.

Its entirely possible that you drafted him with the expectation that he wouldn't have a role at all in year 1.

He hasn’t been super effective in his regular season snaps though. He's more flash than consistent.

So sounds like Green and Hill are the question marks, with Bateman, Humphrey, and Higgins (likely headed to IR) all out.

Guessing Bryan gets the Higgins roster spot and they elevate Lawson and Martin. Think they'll go light at CB.

What about Peebles?
