I've only watched 7 minutes of highlights so I'll take your word for it
He’s not a perfect prospect. There’s a lot of “the best safety in the draft” and “perfect fit for the ravens” and tons of hype around this pick, but it doesn’t mean he’s a guarantee. Great instincts, great play speed, elite ball skills, and physically he’s very natural in coverage all the movements come easy to him.

He does bite on things, he does trigger too aggressively downhill in instances where he should be backpedaling, essentially trusting his instincts to make a play but his read was wrong and now he gave up a big one.

He is very aggressive in pursuit, often looks panicked at the tackle point, I hope bigger/faster ball carriers don’t have him lunging and overextending.

These are really hard projections to make to the next level. Like he either gets better with these things and he’s incredible, or he doesn’t and he’s good in some points and a liability in others. And I guess worst case he tries to overcorrect things and looks like shit as a result.

I think worst case is we got a safety who’s quite good in zone, capable in man, makes some plays on the ball, and can take a handful of snaps at corner any given week if the situation calls for it.

I'm hoping they take Saviinaea, Ratledge or Mbow at 59, or Frazier or Fairchild at 91 - which almost guarantees they won't pick a guard at all tonight.

Plenty of DTs and Edges I like too, which probably means they'll take a corner and an ILB.

im not a fan of savaiinaea, ratledge or fairchild on day 2 - mbow would be a great option and id be ok with frazier depending on how th eboard felt

but ive got a ton of DTs i'd still happily take in the top 100

we've seen it in the past that safeties don't always instantly translate to the pros and take some time to acclimatise to the speed of the game and the new film study and offensive schemes

that said, Starks is someone who projects to impact early even as a rookie in a pretty complicated and multiple defensive scheme

the tackling stuff is overblown - there's highlights of him missing tackles because he's always around the ball - you can't make every play - there's also a ton of film of him taking good angles and being a consistent and good tackler

im not worried about his trigger, my one coverage worry is occasionally he's too flat-footed in off coverage trying to sit on the break and opens himself up to getting beat deep when he's in man off double moves - that stuff is fixable, especially with the way he studies and interprets the game and with his instincts in coverage generally

explosive, bendy but not a good run defender right now and no proof he can hold up for a whole game's worth of snaps

i'd be excited if we picked him but i don't see him as being a fit
I read somewhere a big red flag was put on his knee at the combine - teams think the issue might be chronic.

lol fanbase literally went from "put Dean Pees in there, he ain't ready" to "HC in waiting", in, what, six months? Good times.
I remember that lol. As much as Orr’s growing pains were annoying me, I never wanted Pees in there lol

i think he has some highlights (technically lowlights) where he takes bad angles but he generally does
Oh yeah I don't disagree. It's more of an inconsistency thing than a full fledged problem. Think it'll all come down to discipline, because it felt like when he bit on something is often the time he recovered terribly and took those horrid angles.

Many prayers for Derick Harmon and his family. What is supposed to be the happiest night of your life, getting drafted in the first round of the NFL, damped by your mom passing away. What a kick in the teeth for that young man.
Not that it lessens his sadness, but sounds like it wasn't unexpected, she had been very ill for many years.

"Harmon outlined to ESPN ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft that Saine frequently underwent brain surgeries during his youth. She had eight in total and suffered a stroke that left her paralyzed on her left side while Harmon was playing at Michigan State."

No question. Many here found that promoting Orr was just another Harbaugh blunder and through the first few weeks continually bashed both.

Trade up for Don Ez cowards!!!!!!!
