Broadcast on NFL Network, ESPN and ABC

ONLY 3 SLEEPS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!

This thread has RULES - please read them... they are important

  • There are NO SPOILERS in this thread before the broadcast catches up (unfortunately last year, the broadcast itself decided to get the insiders to basically pre-spoil picks but there's nothing that can be done about that)
  • We realise that insiders sometimes drop the picks before they are shown on the broadcast and request posters to abstain from posting that information in this thread on draft night until after the pick has been broadcast
  • We will operate a 1 strike and you're out policy during broadcast - an initial verbal warning and deletion of post followed by a suspension for any further spoilers - suspensions could last for the rest of the draft
  • The no spoilers rule applies to days 1 and 2 of the draft - if you are not interested in the broadcast you are free to post spoilers elsewhere in the forum but not on this gameday thread
  • This rule does not apply on day 3 because of how behind the broadcast runs but as always please be considerate of your fellow posters
11 picks in the draft including 4 picks in round 6 should keep the draft interesting for us all the way through most of day 3. Not quite as fun as 2022 when we owned most of the 4th round...

This might be the 1st draft since I've started watching that I don't feel any excitement the week of. I didn't do any research, and I've only been skimming through the draft section. The Ravens really fucked me up this year, man.

But I'm looking forward to watching highlights all weekend.

not as high of a quality first round crop of talent at the top but there's going to be a chance to really add a difference maker at 27 and maybe at 59 too this year

I'm the opposite. I'm really positive about this draft - it fits very well with our needs and we've got a chance to get some really solid players right down to pick #136 and maybe even a couple beyond that.

The way discussions have gone round here in draft week shows our roster is already in really good shape. Usually everyone would be clamouring for positions we desperately need etc, but all the talk has been about the two really good TEs we already have.

The poll at the top shows the same with the split vote. We're in a really good position to go BPA with a lot of our picks. There will come a point where we'll need to add say a DT, a CB, a Safety, a Guard, a Swing Tackle or an Edge if one hasn't fallen to us - but they still have more freedom than I can remember in years - and most of those positions will naturally align with BPA and fall to us anyway before we have to force one or two.

The only thing that worries me a little is that we're probably overdue a miss because the drafts have gone well recently.

We can obviously stand to improve, but there are also no absolutely glaring holes. If we needed to line up and play a game tomorrow, we could.

At the same time, we could use damn near every position in the draft except for QB really. We've always been a BPA team but it also lines up well with so many depth needs that pretty much everything is going to feel like it also fills a hole.

@Simba have you heard anything about the ravens and Carson schwesinger? That’s a connection that I’ve heard a lot about recently but I just can’t see that being a round 1 thing

I’ve seen the same. I asked my guy when he gave me the Harmon nugget, and all he could confirm that they like him. He had no idea how much or if it was a round 1 possibility.

Crazy but day 3 might be the most important. The depth chart has been gutted, they need guys at almost every position group who can back up and play roles and the 8 day 3 picks is the best chance to fill those needs.

I'm still looking forward to the draft, and I don't doubt that we'll have the opportunity to get some good players. I've just been football depressed, if that makes any sense.

He’s a very good player, but at 27th, I’ll end it all. These fuckers better not do me like this.

Super important this year, not even because of our roster but because of the draft. This draft is heavy on depth caliber players. Looks like very few stars and starters but I feel like there’s role players to be found all over.

Schefter feels the most likely team to land him would be the Commanders or Bills, but I've also heard the Ravens are in the mix as well. Wouldn't surprise me at all at this point and he'd be a very good fit.

Imparting my opinion, he feels like a trade back candidate. 27 is a hard sell for me but I like the player. Him at 35-40 or so with a pick on top of it makes a lot of sense. But as you said, who knows how other teams feel. If you like a guy and think he’s going to be good, get that guy.

That’s how I feel, both of the top 2 off ball LBs look like studs, but I’d be real disappointed to take an off ball LB there

You can sell me on Jihaad easily. You get some bonus pass rush juice with him in my opinion.

If Jihaad can give us the blitzing ability of Queen but with better coverage ability I'll be happy.

i would be really surprised
but ultimately wouldnt be shocked - i like him a lot too... and if he's the pick, i could definitely see it
