2026 OL Thread

i wasnt particularly moved by the ole miss game tbh
like i think he's a good prospect (really solid) but idk that i see the domination and consistency of an elite prospect

still got a loose 1st round grade on him but i worry about his range and foot quickness on an island up the arc as a tackle and i also don't see consistent sustain and finish in his blocking
I don’t view him as a tackle at all, pure G in my eyes.

And yeah the sustain and finish is exactly what I wasn’t seeing from him early in that game, but as I said he got much stronger as the game went on. He was playing bully ball by the fourth quarter

Can we keep Lindenbaum? The Chargers are going to get a lot of money and they know him too well.
Luckily, there are good options in the draft.
That's another position to watch.

I get that he won most snaps - I guess the manner in which he was “winning” in the 4th quarter didn’t feel like a set of reps reflective of what he might look like in the nfl - level of competition also factors in too I guess

Linderbaum is still here until he isn’t. If he makes it to the open market we can worry about it then, but for now I’m not worried

i've gone full circle on vega ioane and pregnon having now watched some more tape

pregnon's a lot less consistently dominant than he seemed initially - not as balanced and good moving laterally as i thought and doesnt offset that with as much physical dominance as i wanted either - the highlights are still very high but a lot less consistent than on my first run through - still think he's a great prospect but not the clear first rounder type guy that i initially had him as

olaivavega ioane by contrast is far more consistent on a down to down basis - consistently moves and torques defenders out of gaps, looks comfortable working laterally and looks very scheme flexible - powerful core and hands - not a top 10 type prospect because guys can still get on top of him when they threaten his outside edge but i'd say right now he's the number 1 IOL in the class (and i include mauigoa in that group)

right now i've only got 3 OL worth a 1st round pick - Fano, Ioane and Mauigoa

if monroe freeling was a bit stronger and if blake miller was less of a hugger (had more consistent strikepoints) those guys would definitely factor in the 1st round too grade-wise - would probably still expect them to go in the 1st round anyway

also not seen anyone talking about him anywhere...
but i really like Billy Schrauth - Notre Dame LG

like im seeing no talk or draft profiles about him and he's in and around being a top 30 dude on my board right now

maybe the injury he suffered against USC has put him out of sight out of mind...
otherwise idk why he's not mentioned at all

How do you feel about Keylan Rutledge? I don't know if he's the right fit for what they're aiming for, but he's a tough guy.
And what about Caleb Tiernan? I like Tiernan for swing tackle and future Lt.

i think tiernan's got a chance to become an average starter or solid swing tackle

i think he lacks any elite traits - not overly athletic or a dynamic mover, not powerful, shorter arms
he's a smooth and in control operator with decent technique, footwork and balance

not watched rutledge yet beyond some senior bowl reps - but he's high up on my list of guys to get to soon

also i may have mentioned it before but a big fan of Brian Parker II who i also think is not being noticed enough as a RT who looks like he could be a convert inside to guard or even center

and Jude Bowry is so maddeningly inconsistent but the flashes are there of an elite talent
i hate that they made him play at RT all through the senior bowl because i think he looks far more natural as a LT

his footwork looks so much more natural on that left side

Parker had no luck with his measurements; his 32-inch arms and 9-inch hands send him to G/C

I don’t think 32.25 inches is disqualifying at tackle if it doesn’t show up as an issue on tape

Think Parker absolutely could be given a look at RT depending on who drafts him

I’m really liking Jake Slaughter, Center from Florida. Insane name value aside, he’s pretty good. Not sure where he would be drafted but if we did let Linderbaum go he’s someone I feel could come into the line and do well

he's definitely one of the center options that i like the most in this class - i see him as a 3rd round type guy

Sam Hecht is probably my favourite of the true C prospects

but i also am a big fan of Brian Parker II who may well fit at 4 of the 5 OL spots including C (RT but has the profile of a guy who might be a good C and practised there at the shrine bowl)

Yeah but that name value of OL Slaughter….he needs to bite off squirrel heads and everything we wanted from Cleveland with that name lol

He'd be a great pickup. Can start at G, and be our backup C if Linderbaum gets hurt or sick.

I haven’t gone back on pregnon so I have no change of opinions there. ioane I noticed after some more film is a stellar pass protector but seems to lose some of his footwork in the run game. He’s a lot cleaner looking than I originally thought, I think he’s definitely more of an athletic guard than a mauling guard and I just don’t know how I feel about a guard in round 1 that excels with movement and footwork but lacks that physical dominance you want for the run game. I can do that with centers and tackles but it gives me big pause with guards, those are the guys I want to be punishers up front, you can combo and double with the center often and get him to the 2nd level but you’re gonna often want at least one of your guards to generate real push on any given play.

Anybody watched Brian Parker II from duke? Been a while since I last watched him but my initial impressions were pretty high.

i've flipped again lol

i think it probably just means that they're both gonna end up with similar grades at the end and both probably going to be in the late 1st/early 2nd range for me

wouldn't want either at 14

also hard to know stylistically what we're looking for offensively in terms of style
