The "We Finally Beat The Steelers," the King Henry, the fumbles, and the Pick 6

I really think if we win out and take the division with Lamar the player of the game in each, regardless of what Allen does, it’s MV3 time. Am I wrong?
Yes. If the Bills win out Allen wins MVP. If the Bills win this week and next, and then Allen rests, he is still the MVP.

Josh Allen is -1000 to win MVP. You get better returns betting on the Bills to beat the Patriots straight up than on Allen to win MVP. Barring the Bills losing games the MVP race is over.

This is how the Bengals can make the playoffs

It’s funny that the part of that I think they fail is Colts losing out. It’s possible that they win out, funnily enough though the key to that is the Steelers winning on Wednesday. By extension However, with the Colts final 3 games they should easily win out.

It’s also not even that crazy of a scenario. They just need to win, have the Broncos lose their last game, and have Dolphins/Colts not win 3 in a row. As far as crazy scenarios go it’s fairly tame compared to the NFC scenarios.

Also, major major shout out to Rosengarten. I get that Watt was playing with a bum ankle, but RR more than held his own against him.
Roger has been an absolute steal so far. He’s playing some really damn good ball and I was worried these big rushers were gonna give him the shits but it’s not been the case at all, he’s held it down basically ever since he took over.

I don’t do any pro film study, but I watch some YouTubers from time to time, and I know Roger has been known to take a step for depth and then attack rushers wide, I wonder if that’s how he handles these ultra physical guys like watt, slow their rush before they can bring the rush to him, he doesn’t get in position and catch the rush he just gets out there and shuts it down early. Hard to put roger on skates if you can never build momentum against him.

Made it to Pittsburgh today to my brother in laws house. I was absolutely dreading this day because he was so obnoxious about this game. Not only is he a Raven hater, he hates Lamar too. Thank God he did not get too many opportunities to irk me too bad because for the most part we held the lead. My only gripe was during the last two minutes of the game he turned into a spoiled baby and turned the Clemson v Texas game on.

This win saved me from getting ugly! I really needed it, but I need them to win the division.

Feels like the first complete game from this team since Buffalo way back early in the season. Hopefully a sign of things to come. It wasn't perfect, but there's a lot to build on here - and hopefully they do because it's perfect timing.

most importantly, it felt complementary... lamar threw a pick, defence had his back...
defence forced the fumble from russ and the offence drove 96 yards for a TD to punish

and on top of it all, maybe underrated because we didnt notice it...

only 2 penalties for 10 yards (+1 extra that was declined) - that's a much better recipe

All I ever asked is for Lamar to give us at least a decent game. Looked good. I don't know if Lamar threw it too quickly or Bateman just flat out stopped on the route. Zay was fantastic. Henry more than redeemed himself from the last Steelers game. Sucks that we lost Hill for the next game too since that looked ugly. OL was a mixed bag but what else is new.

watched the play a few times - it was mostly just unfortunate timing but lamar probably shouldnt have thrown that read anyway

bate realises that his route is covered and is breaking his route back inside just as lamar throws to him - was literally the only scenario where that turns into a pick

If bate just runs his route, he catches it for a small gain or it falls incomplete - if he breaks a tackle he scores
If lamar holds the ball a tick longer or pumps, he doesnt throw it and either throws it back inside to bate after his cut or (more likely) moves onto zay who's wide open in the middle of the endzone

i still think lamar should have come off bate, but i get that on 1st and 10 at the 11 yard line he was happy to take the 3-4 yard gain vs the blitz

it's also a great read by fitzpatrick (even if bate continues his route) - he knows the pressure call and knows that lamar likely gets the ball out quick and breaks on that route so early

no one's done anything particularly bad on that play - it's just a frustrating compounding of a few decisions in a fraction of a second - and also a really good play by the defender in this instance

Lamar hasnt been running that often this year, i wonder what made steelers want to make sure lamar doesnt keep it.. i feel like that only works if your front is great… also, derrick henry showcased his footwork alot this game

steelers have always played our option concepts by having someone like TJ Watt force a read by being aggressive and then playing the choice that they force

they get away with being that aggressive because TJ Watt is really really good off the EDGE in those situations where other edge defenders can't necessarily force a particular read and then play the other read the way he does
