2019 Forum Mock: Discussion Thread

At the end of the team selection draft the rosters lock. Whoever is on the team at that point is yours to keep. You then trade, cut and tender players. Then we go through OUR own free agency period and then OUR own draft. You make the picks and do everything a normal GM would do to improve the team. Each GM also work with the teams current cap (All 51). Make sure you understand how the cap rules work. There are examples of trades within the rule.
So you mean I can’t trade Flacco for the two first round picks I hoped I could get?!?! This is ridiculous!!!

So is there any winning/losing here or are we just going by how well each player does and how well we manage the cap?

no winning or losing. It just gives you a chance to manage a team as you see fit. Some at the end of the REAL draft will compare how closely the player they drafted was actually drafted.

I've been involved in Mock Drafts of this sort on other draft boards, but the other ones only have the draft.

So for me to get a new QB I need to either draft one as a rookie or trade with someone that has a decent back up OR see if a QB is actually released in real life before we have our own FA period? Correct?

who knows. You may be able to trade for a starter, but yes drafting or trading for one would be the best way. Are you interested in Nick Mullens? Anyway trading can't happen until the Teams have been drafted. Once that happens you pm the GM about any potential trades or interest.

Ok say that I am and Mullens doesnt even have a start the whole year.. what barring does that hold on my season?

Now if Mullens does get traded to a team and starts. Then at the end of the year he has a nice QB rating then I see how one can say yea A1A knows a thing or two. But having my starting QB on the bench all year I dont see why I'd even post a state of my franchise. Like so my QB hasn't started yet but we our under the cap and the jags in real life are 7-1 with Bortles under center. Lol

Oh and my 4th rd pick is killing it in a Steelers uniform.

So having a successful roster means....??

It's just for fun to kill some time in the offseason. In the past, we had some people go through and do full team evaluations but that's fallen by the wayside on the new boards.

Completely up to you how to manage your team and what your goal is.

Some like to draft young, some people wanna stack a roster for a SB push, and then some even disagree on what a SB caliber team is, but ultimately its up to to you to run your team how you want.

I was debating the Raiders because of the 3 first round picks, but my god, that roster is terrible.
