2025 Baltimore Orioles

I wish they would have done similar contracts with Gunnar and Adley.

No way Bassallo, with his size is going to be an everyday catcher for long. I think they see him as a DH or 1B. Adley calls a great game when he has a pitcher with the tools. I don't think he's any less likely to be given a deal. I don't think Gunnar is gonna be here after his arb years are done. Once he hits FA he's gone. I hope not, but he's gonna get PAID.
Adley is a liability throwing, ranks 44th in the league. Not good.

I hear what you are saying about Gunnar, lotsa teams out there with extremely deep pockets. I'm not giving up until it happens. lol

He's been much better so I'm hoping this is all part of this injury-thing he seems to have... If it is closer to his new normal, which would be very sad, there's really, then, no wonder as to why they drafted - what - FOUR catchers in the draft this year? lol

Yeah, but he was bad out of the gate before any injuries. TBH I lost faith in him after the playoffs last year, he just looked like shiz in those games. Slow and plodding.

That's fair enough. I think the whole team has looked like a deer in the headlights in the Playoffs both years.

If Adley makes it back, it will be interesting to see what his position is - DH, 1B, C... The same could be said of Basallo. The complicating factor is that Mayo seems to have the 1B audition spot locked up for now. Altho, they could DH Mayo and then rotate both the C's into 1B. I've always kind of thought that's where Adley would wind up, but that was before struggling at the plate the last two years.

Neither Coby, or Jackson for that matter have looked particularly good in the field, hopefully they improve. I don’t have a guess how Adley would fair in the field, but he doesn’t seem quick enough to me. Mounty has been excellent in the field, but just so streaky at the plate.
There’s some interesting decisions to be made.

Trevor Rogers continues his Cy Young caliber performances. Of course he won't be considered given his late start, but what a great turn around. Hopefully this roll continues on through next season.

I'm going to the Cal anniversary game Saturday against the Dodgers. Hopefully Trevor is the starter and shuts down Ohtani. Now that would be cool!

Trevor is actually pretty remarkable at this point. This video was posted on another board and I think it shows sometimes how unaware both players and clubs can be when performance is struggling. He's been nothing but exceptional since working on the strength problem he identified in the video. (He also has an indigestion issue that needs some attention! lol)

Pretty nuts to be 1 out away from a no hitter to getting walked off. Wish I had been able to watch on tv instead of gameday.

MLB posted the full 9th inning... man what a inning. Gave me flashbacks to the 2011 finale when we beat Boston and eliminated them from the playoffs. Get a Manager who can develop this young roster and the O's will be back on top sooner than later.

Yeah, that guy pitched a helluva game, was like we were using pillows for bats. He almost ruined what was a great night celebrating Cal.

We had a row of Dodgers fans behind us that chirped the whole game. What a sweet way to shut them up and send them home crying in their High Noon. lol

4th straight walk off win, this time Beavers with the clutch hit. Nice!

So Elias gets promoted and is looking for a GM. I'm cautiously optimistic this means we can have a better offseason than last year

Pretty sure Mike will continue to have the final word on any deals. And we could sign a bunch of all world players, but can’t control the possibility of injuries.

Thankfully we weren’t able to sign Corbin to a long term deal. Diamondbacks are pretty sorry at this point they went all in with him as he may not pitch again until 2027, and may not ever be the same guy.

It's less about the injuries imo, and more about showing that you're serious about winning. Hindsight is hindsight, but I still would've liked Burnes, Eovaldi, Fried, or even Verlander instead of Morton.
