Next Up: @ Cowboys

Micah Parsons lining up over Faalele on obvious passing downs is going to be a nightmare that haunts me all week.

Both teams coming off embarrassing losses (in different ways).
The difference, to me, is that the Cowboys are playing this game at home (again) in Jerry's World. So, I doubt they will go out like chumps as they did last week against the Saints. The Ravens will have an uphill climb to avoid being 0-3.

I watched some rosengarten film study, dude, if mekari is starting again harbaugh is beyond incompetent. Rosengarten looks so much better than mekari that this shouldn’t even be a discussion right now, it should just be done already. I had my concerns with him in preseason but he’s looked so good in his reps so far, even with the lumps he’s gonna take, he’s gonna consistently perform decent with the occasional rookie loss, whereas mekari is occasionally holding his ground but mostly doing bad.

And faalele… holy shit man. He might actually still be capable at RT, I see issues with him that are not exactly tackle issues, he can’t handle these quick DTs getting in close and then crossing his body, he can’t slide quick enough and if he uses his length there he’s gonna hold. when his length is a factor on the edge he might actually be able to do something. That said, he can NOT play guard, he doesn’t have it, he looks so bad. The faalele at G experiment has been an unmitigated disaster, and that’s no exaggeration, and idk how we are still sitting here discussing this. Cleveland needs to be in there, he can’t be worse.
Yeah I don't think Mekari is a fit at RT...I just think he's undersized there and gets beaten badly by speed rushers. This is a terrible match up and I think we need to sub him out and end this rotation nonsense. Yeah, I agree, the Faalele experiment at RG has been a disaster, he's been getting beat off the snap real bad and guys with speed are going to be a problem for him. Ben Cleveland might not have won the job but at this point they got to be considering a replacement with how awful Faalele's performance has been.

If he was so bad in those way, so much to the point they though Daniel beat him put, he should've been cut. And yet he's not

Just because the coaching staff felt like Daniel was better doesn't necessarily mean Cleveland should have been cut. Honestly even though Daniel has been bad the guy might have pretty good upside at guard and maybe the coaching staff figured they could make it work. Ben Cleveland possibly doesn't practice the way the coaching staff may have like but he also was asked to practice at center which makes alot of sense given that Patrick Mekari would be switching in and out with Rosengarten. They like their rookie center Nick Samac but the guy got hurt in preseason and not sure if he's even 100 percent healthy yet which leaves center depth on active game day short. Even if Samac ends up being healthy enough to play that would probably take the ravens asking Faalele to be placed on the inactive list which probably something team doesn't want to do given he versatility to play guard and the tackle spot. Not sure if Samac can play at center and guard.

Overall seems like Rosengarten has to continue to make the case that he should be the full time right tackle which could possibly give the coaching staff more trust to have Mekari practice at center instead of Cleveland

I’m assuming we’re gonna see Rosengarten start at RT and not see Falefel at RG, it’s just too obvious. Right?

Harbs never seems to side with the “obvious”.

So here’s the thing, this fanbase has been rightfully pessimistic so far, but the Cowboys are soft and have been soft, last year they folded to any good team they played. If we are what we hope to be this is a game we should win handily, I’m calling a blowout win for us. Also Cleveland will be starting, it was a smokescreen

To take it a step further their DLine is already injured and they just were destroyed by the Saints. This should be Henry’s coming out game.

Wtf is Harbaugh on? Cleveland took almost no snaps at RG. Having Linderbaum and Samac hurt meant he was asked to fill in at C because obviously only he and Sala were even candidates really.

So Harbaugh says Daniel outcompeted Cleveland but that's just simply not true. Then Cleveland spoke up and said just that.

Given that Ben Powers was basically doing the same thing as Ben Cleveland was doing before he eventually won the left guard position I think Harbaugh assessment of Cleveland wasn't limited. Powers was practicing at center and he wasn't even mentioned as being in the completion at all at left guard position that year but somehow he won the left guard position anyway.

He showed Harbaugh he was the better candidate for the job. Even though I feel like Cleveland is the better candidate for the right guard job it doesn't matter if he didn't seem to show it to the coaching staff regardless of what position he was practicing at . Maybe the coaching staff wanted to see him show more hungar to start or more drive to be better but he didn't. Maybe Faalele worked more harder than Cleveland did . Maybe when Cleveland and others went home Faalele stayed to keep working on his craft as a guard . Stuff like that impress the coaching staff

WK1 Xavier Worthy/Rashee Rice and Chris Jones
WK2 Davante Adams and Max Crosby
WK3 Ceedee Lamb and Micah Parsons

We just don't have a guy on either side of the ball that are at those levels. Obviously Worthy/Rice is the weakest name of the entire group.

I was watching ESPN and Ryan Clark was saying (and rightfully so) if your playing defense against us, who are you scared of in the passing game? There's no fear of getting beat deep so you just can play to take away the short to intermediate game. Ultimately you have to worry about Lamar and that's it. We've not shown we can use Henry in any reliable way.

On defense, we have a ton of "names" and huge sums of money but across 2 games there's nearly nothing to feel super good about. The brightest spot is ironically pass rush. But they can't win every time and now we're seeing things like lock down 2023 Stephens is getting brutalized in 1 on 1s. Not super surprising but it would be cool if he kept up his elite play. But way more importantly, we're seeing guys like Jakobi fucking Meyers take Marlons lunch money on 3rd downs. Like come on man.

I was particularly harsh on MM but while he was here you could see Roquan making a huge impact. You could see Hamilton making a huge impact. Madabuike went nuts. Now it's Oweh has flashed in 1 game and Travis Jones is doing well on some dirty work.

This just feels all around like a muted or nerffed version of the 2023 Ravens.

You answered your own question defensively…

Madubuike
Roquan
Hamilton

And hopefully we’re adding oweh and Travis jones to the list this year too

And idk that rice/worthy’s the kind of argument you wanna make… kelce’s the best weapon in that offence, worthy scored 2 TDs on a bust and a reverse - if you’re gonna talk about him and rice then zay’s easily our equivalent on offence
