Random JETS thread...

I know what I typed and I'm not backing down. The Ravens are a team I have respect for. I'm not a fan. I'm a fan of their front office and it's my hope that Joe Douglas has inherited that ability to orchestrate an excellent pipeline for bringing talent through the door. The Jets did beat the Ravens in almost every stat except on the scoreboard where it mattered the most. The defense started their last two years of dominance that day. The talent is there for the offense to come around also. The Jets lost fair and square. Honestly, I think you're running your mouth because you know the Ravens don't have the Jets on their schedule. If they did, you'd tone it back quite a bit. Like I said I respect the Ravens and we don't need to mouth off to each other.

Ill summarise. He said you are only talking shit about the Jets because we don't play them year. If we did you'd be too scared.
Thanks babe

Very good summary. You're right. The Jets would smoke the Ravens this season if they played them. You should thank God your Ravens do not have to play the Jets.

sure they would. I wish they played this season also....
So do I. The fact is, the Jets on paper are considered to be one of the best rosters with one of the most favorable schedules. But I firmly believe if the Jets want to be the best? They should beat the best. The Ravens were the very best regular season team in the AFC last season. I watched the Ravens smoke the Lions last season. That was VERY impressive. Honestly, I wish the Jets did play the Ravens. It would be a good, objective measuring stick for how they have come.

Joe Douglas is an excellent GM all things considered. He missed pretty badly on Zach Wilson and just about his entire first draft in 2020. But no GM is perfect and when he took over the Jets they had literally ZERO talent on the team. Now? The team has become a popular destination for free agents and this team, rightfully so, has SB aspirations.

That's a credit and potentially a punishment of unintended consequences for the Ravens organization? If the Jets do in fact get in the playoffs and beat the Ravens? Perhaps you realize then that maybe having Joe Douglas on your staff and training him as well as you did that maybe you wouldn't be on the losing end of a playoff game?

But I guess that's a risk that every organization runs?

My whole thing is I couldn't be happier...

I'm a lifelong Jets fan and the Jets have always a bottom feeding, hot garbage organization. They needed a rebuild from the very ground up. I believe that started when Robert Wood Johnson hired Joe Douglas as the GM. The Jets have not done a fucking thing. I think they're on the right path to sustainable, repeatable success every year if they continue down the road they are currently on. They've proven absolutely nothing. But if the injury situation can finally start to go in their favor, I believe they will prove to be one of the very best teams in the NFL this season.

ah yes sustainable, repeatable success every year...

how old is their QB again?

40 years old Sir. The QB riddle is one that eluded Joe Douglas. But I remember several posters here that said if Wilson failed, Douglas and Saleh would surely get fired. Now that could still happen if they are not successful this season but Zach Wilson is gone and Joe Douglas is still the GM. I think that's because ownership realizes he's done a very good job building the rest of the team.

I get it. The Jets took Jordan Travis and based on the gruesome leg Break at Florida St. He's going to essentially be redshirted this season. I think the pick was brilliant because Travis leading up to the injury was definitely going to be a 1st round draft choice. Joe got him in the 5th round and that's fantastic value. But he'd better develop into something because I do not foresee Joe getting anymore chances if Travis stinks up the joint.

With that said, I feel very comfortable with Aaron Rodgers right now. He's in the late of his career but he's still an excellent QB. That much is obvious. You can see it Training camp. He's also got a great big chip on his shoulder about the Achilles last season. He feels like he has something to prove. He loves being a Jet and he really wants to pay dividends for the Jets fanbase. So assuming he stays healthy I feel 100% that he'll put up good numbers. We'll see how it all shakes out, but the Chiefs? The Ravens? The Bills? Based on last season those are far superior teams to the Jets. Famous last words but I'm excited to see the Jets this season and I think they'll be a playoff team for sure. In which case, they may very well get the Ravens or Chiefs or Bills and that's when the rubber meets the road....

I really don't know what these transactions mean but the Jets extended Mike Carter and opened up cap space. They restructured Tyler Conklin and Quincy Williams to open up even more cap space. The Jets are in a stalemate with Haasan Reddick. Perhaps the recent cap moves are to throw Reddick a bone and get him in the building? I'm not sure how useful he'll be Monday night given that he skipped training camp but he's in NJ doing charity events. But getting Reddick on the team gets the Jets to full strength just in time....

You poor bastard, after years of being in an abusive relationship you keep coming back for more believing things have changed. You got a classic case of battered wife syndrome son.
You're a fucking weirdo. I haven't the faintest idea what the hell you're even trying to say? Do you speak English? Stop the sarcasm. If you want to criticize the Jets team, then have at it. Shoot holes in my optimism. But I really do not think you want to do that? Honestly, I think you just want to be a sarcastic a$$hole and that's the reason for this word salad nonsense. If you don't have anything to add to the conversation then don't read it.

If Haasan Reddick is going to play week 1 then i think today has to be the deadline for him to report. Unless he's been training on his own he wouldn't be ready for the 49ers game.
