Ya hes not the best tackler but his coverage is outstanding. I was watching a bit of his tape and posted a video on him earlier. Production is there too as he has 13 picks and 26 pass breakups in 3 years. Ex basketball player too. Ill be watching him at the senior bowl, should put up good combine numbers as well

dam didnt know he was a basketball player..i think we are going oline in 1strnd, dont have a 2nd right? So yea he will be gone by our next pick

If we're going FS in the draft we need someone with experience that can handle our complex schemes. My pick would be Darnell Savage from Maryland. Three year starter who has gotten better every year. Reminds me of Desmond king as a player who relies on instincts and film study rather than pure athleticism.

Do any of yall think Chauncey Gardner Johnson should play Safety at the next level? I really feel he should. Hes got such good ball skills

Thata the thing. With all the cover 0 we run i think we value these sure tackling safties who can match up man to man more than a FS. We def arent the kind of defense to sit back anymore. We like to be the aggressor and Rapp more than fits that bill. His tackling is just phenomenal
Dude you’re acting like like we run cover 0 a majority of the time. We don’t. Just because we run cover 0 every once in a while doesn’t mean we dont need a FS....

Well we sure do run cover 0 more than any other team in the league and my point was more that we need someone who can play in the box and in coverage. A guy like Thompson just wouldnt fit in my eyes as i think hes a bit of a liability in the box. I feel as though a lot of us are clamouring for a true FS and im not sure thats going to happen. There arent many center feilders in the NFL anymore.

100% he's a safety - he can play nickel sure but he has the range to play single high and be a playmaker
The play he made vs michigan had me like wow damn. This kid should be a safety. What i like about him playing in the slot is that it shows he can handle playing in run support. I really like this kid and always admired his toughness in games. I usually only watched him live and thought FL was forced to put him at slot because hes the only guy who could handle it.

the difference between him in 2017 and 2018 is pretty wild - he was an awful tackler who was great on the backend in 2017 whereas this year he's been much surer but less consistent in coverage but has played a lot more nickel this year than safety from what i saw

Ya i never usually like Florida DBs but when i watched UF vs LSU live i really respected what i saw from CGJ and was pleasantly surprised by his toughness in run support. Not the norm from most UF DBs. Other than Polite he seemed like the best player on their team.

Had to watch the tape again and i was right on. I really think the coaching change at UF with Dan Mullen really helped him improve as a tackler. He does a really good job fighting off screens as well. His one issue is he can be too agressive at times and that gets him in trouble

Ok, there is an FCS,CB from Temple that I want on this team if for no other reason than his name

Rock Ya-Sin. I mean who wouldn't buy that jersey! Outside of his cool name, he has incredible ball skills.

I like savage too, like a LOT, but didn’t he have off field issues?
