End of the Bar Does Not Care, John Harbaugh

I was pretty certain throughout that Harbaugh was in fact getting fired. The vibes reminded me so much of when Philly let Andy Reid go. that went well for both parties and i expect the Ravens and Harbaugh will both be better off for this too.

The weird part of this story is this:

John Harbaugh has thrown Monken under the bus before. If he did that, it seems weird he chose to die on that hill. I almost wonder if he wanted to be fired based on what I've heard about how everything went down.

Also, likely landing spots to me:

1. New York Giants
2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Possible Landing Spots:
3. Atlanta Falcons
4. Oakland Raiders
5. Miami Dolphins

Unlikely Landing Spots:
6. Cleveland Browns

I don't think Harbaugh would want to stay in the AFC North at all. I really think Cleveland is highly unlikely.

I'm also skeptical he will want to go to the AFC West with his brother & Andy Reid as head coaches. The only enticing part of the Raiders is they have pieces and a shot at the #1 pick. BUT Harbaugh said before he doesn't want to be apart of a rebuild years ago. So I think he would want to go somewhere he thinks he can win and win now.

Buccaneers have Baker and Giants have Dart and both have some good pieces. I think both are possible as of this moment. Only exception would be if Buffalo Bills call and fire McDermott then I could see Harbaugh go there. I am skeptical about Atlanta because they don't quite have a QB, but they do have Kirk Cousins and I'm sure Harbaugh would love that guy.

For whatever team he goes too, they better hope Harbaugh gets better at making a staff. It was always his biggest weakness. Post SB the only standouts were Kubiak and MacDonald.
and Anthony Weaver had his hand in some of the younger guys that filled out the staff prior to his departure.

Stale is the right word. The team with a generation QB, just seemed stuck in the mud. The ending of our 2025 season was typical, so typical. This type of ending has to end.

I just read an interesting perspective on John’s goodbye message and thought I was share it here as I didn’t hear anyone say it here

Not once did Harbaugh thank the fans in his parting message. I was surprised when I read this as I didn’t pick up on that initially, and I went to read it again and was surprised that he didn’t thank the fans. I guess it didn’t register to me because I didn’t care, but I suppose it is kinda weird because that’s usually customary.

I also don’t understand his use of the smiley emoji. It comes across as passive aggressive and disingenuous

So overall I would consider myself pro Harbaugh until the Steve Saunders situation. I was willing to move on from it and give him a chance to adjust and we did get better in 2023 but it does seem like Harbaugh really likes to pick his guys and struggles to hold them accountable and make adjustments. Looking at the tribute video the Ravens posted, it did feel like earlier Harbaugh was a bit hungrier and I don't really get that from him these days.

I just think the Ravens are who they are at this point under Harbaugh and things were getting too stagnant for us to get over the hump. There was a struggle to adjust to things before they became so obvious the entire country is wondering why they haven't happened yet(not giving Henry the ball in the Patriots game) and the team really having this mental block in critical moments doesn't help.

It is definitely a risk to get rid of Harbaugh because I think even with his faults we had a high floor but if the goal is to win a Super Bowl in Lamar's prime, time is running out on that front and we really need a new voice to lead that charge that can get the best out of the players. It has been apparent for years that the Ravens have had an extremely talented roster and we have 3 playoff wins to show for it and a lot of inconsistency and under performance.

But I do trust the front office to build a good team and I think the gamble to find a good coach to get us over the hump is worth it at this point.

I wish Harbaugh the best going forward and think he will succeed in bringing a new culture and increased competitiveness to wherever he goes. Hopefully he goes somewhere to the NFC and finds success. I do think there is an opportunity for both sides to benefit from this and sometimes it is just time to move on.

This about sums it up for me too. He definitely looked different when he first got here compared to now. Watching the video kinda hit me in the feels tbh, but also highlighted how different 2008-2012 Harbaugh was to the guy we had recently.

I think a lot of his practice regimen was changed/eliminated with the CBA restrictions that were ratified in 2012(?). And even though he was still known as a hard ass he seemed to soften his approach to player relationships as the years went on.

Nah, I don’t think so, dude is a workaholic. If anything I think some of the players got too comfortable listening to how great they were going to be this year and forgot about the work it takes to stay great. But ultimately it was John’s responsibility to set that straight, didn’t appear to happen until it was too late.
