Next Up: Bye Week

It was definitely a personal issues and MP being a jackass. I highly doubt Harbs wants him back after their run ins last year. But ya never know ,you can’t have to many CBs. MP might be adult enough to bite his tongue and be a team player if he knows it gives him a very good shot at a Super Bowl. He would have to be cool as CB 3/4 or 5 depending on Marlon’s status.
Think he'd be further down the depth chart than that. With Pepe coming back, I don't see how he'd even be active on gamedays.

Also, he was cut largely because he either can't or won't tackle. You can't play Corner in MM's scheme if you can't or won't tackle.

If Stanley doesn’t get healthier and improve over the bye… how long before Mekari takes over?

My gut says no. I don't think Stanley is "bad enough" to lose his job. He's just basically an average LT in the league right now.

More interested in what happens in the offseason and whether they think he can recover better from his injuries with months of rest.

Anyone else think Jason Garrett should replace Chris Collinsworth full time on Sunday Night Football? I thought he did a pretty good job, not sure if that was his first time calling a game but it was certainly better than listening to Collinsworth for three hours.
He's too vanilla. Has no personality. Terrible for an analyst.

I couldn’t stand garrett and I like collinsworth on SNF quite a bit, honestly don’t get all the collinsworth hate

Stanley done. Fork a fork in him.

Would’ve loved a trio of Hollywood, zay, and bate. I’m sure not everybody agrees, but I thought Hollywood was pretty damn good here and still in Arizona and he had a strong rapport with Lamar and made some MAJOR catches in big moments.

I think zay is gonna be all world as opposed to hollywoods “good nfl wr2” but I still would’ve liked him here. Not at linderbaums expense either.
and you said it. If we had Hollywood, we wouldn't have Linderbaum and may not have drafted Zay Flowers either. Getting rid of Hollywood, as good as he was may have netted us to really good players. Maybe he comes back to Baltimore at the end of his contract????

I can't stand Collinsworth and I agree with you that Jason Garrett did a hell of a job.

the rbs should be used more in the passing game, like keaton this would numb the loss of andrews a bit more

have bateman/obj go on more deep routes, lamar likes throwing to big tall guys, and they have a bigger catch radius then zay

Eh i don’t think so. I think Peters slots in nicely on a rotation with Maulet and Darby in no particular order. He’s definitely an upgrade to JAD and RYS. I also think his lack of physicality is over blown. He can get down when he needs to , but his skill set as a ball hawk is worth the trade off. He’s a nice insurance policy Incase Humph has a set back or we lose someone else in the secondary

MP would not be playing over any of them save for maybe JAD at this point. He’d be 5th in the outside CB rotation. He’s not coming here nor should we even be interested.

lol yeah, that's a no. There really isn't much of a "rotation" at Corner, even with Marlon out.
Against the Chargers, Stephens and Darby played 100% of snaps, JAD and RYS logged zero defensive snaps, and Maulet only played seven (and he's a slot corner pretty much exclusively).
With Hamilton mostly playing the slot, we employed super heavy three-Safety packages (Hamilton and Williams played 100%, Stone played 82%). There's very little in terms of "rotation" in our secondary really.

If you go back to the Bengals game, we had a wider distribution, but that's also a factor of a) a TNF game, so everybody is on short rest, and b) I'd bet the distribution skews heavier towards depth players later in the game (i.e. we were up 14 with ten minutes left and 21 with like 5 minutes left).

Even with Marlon out, there's pretty obviously very little, if any, path to playing time. And I think they'll prefer Pepe over him anyway, putting him somewhere like 5th or 6th on the depth chart. The 5th or 6th corner is a gameday active who rarely plays defensive snaps, and 100% has to play ST in order to be active.

If they liked Peters over Darby or RYS, then Peters would have been a Raven already.

It’s not about liking peters over anyone, it’s about liking peters in addition to

But they're dependent on each other until you find somebody else to go on IR. So who's that player? An addition requires a subtraction. So either I need somebody to get injured, or I need to cut somebody.

And once I've figured out that, I then have to decide whether he's worthy to even be active on gameday. Which my argument is that, today, even with Marlon out, he's not. I don't see the snap distribution for him, and I'm pretty sure he has zero interest in being a core ST player (which is how a lot of these guys get gameday roster spots to begin with).

Rock is coming in garbage time, while peters was actually starting he would be good depth

God have mercy on the remaining 5 teams, because we won’t. We’re gonna come out of this bye looking unstoppable. Watch.

Have the same feeling. Think this rest is coming at a perfect time. Also get the warm up game vs LA. Have almost always seen an a bump in performance after the bye.
The Steelers have it somewhat easy too until their games with the Seahawks and us

Hopefully pull off the one seed and Pitt could get to beat up on KC.
I made sure to watch Bateman in person when I went to the game. Dude got the jets. And his release off the line is crispy.

Shame he isn’t featured in this offense.

He needs to be involved more. Think he could be a great weapon for us.
I am obviously a minority, but I really like Collinsworth. Has a lot of personal takes and doesn't talk non-stop. Garrett was ok, talked a bit too much, but hopefully fixable.
Disgusting
Well who would you want to replace him? Mekari ain't any better
He's much cheaper and produces at a close enough level.

I agree 100%. Particularly with a "Disgusting" bit.
