We do exactly what we did today.

Different teams, different strengths.

ATL uses its 3 headed monster at WR to get yards which had no chance against Ravens corners.

KC is way more balanced in terms of who they give ball to and is far more likely to take advantage of Ravens over the middle. Them not having Hunt is huge though.

I personally believe we pull at least one upset out of our asses one of these next two games. There's a chance we sneak in as the wild card but I've seen this movie before.

You see. I'm a die hard Ravens fan here. But if we make the playoffs, in the short term, it's great. We'd have a chance for a SB and all that jazz....

In the long term, well I'd hate it. Harbaugh and Marty undoubtedly stay..... And I think that ruins Lamar. I don't care what any of you think, if you think Marty is crucial to Lamar's development YOU ARE WRONG. Just look at the horrid playcalling today. "But he's making halftime adjustments, that's an improvement." Well that's a horrible argument. He shouldn't have to make those adjustments in the first place... The Falcons defense has been a dead man walking all year, it took you two quarters IN THE GAME to figure out that ground and pound is the clear cut best strategy to beat them? It's ridiculous and utterly idiotic. I think that Roman and especially Urban have done WONDERS for the guy, and would solely keep them on any coaching staff because THEY are crucial to Lamar Jackson's development, and it is showing in how much the guy has improved since college.

For Lamar's sake, if nothing else, Marty needs to go. Playoffs this year is something IDC about. Our best QB is a rookie, how far can we really go with that? I'd rather get Lamar the pieces and the coaches to help him out. And for that to happen, Harbaugh needs to go.

And fwiw, I think the postseason is very possible.

THIS IS EXACTLY HOW I FEEL.

I'm getting this sick feeling we keep Harbaugh and the entire offensive staff. I would like to point to the Rams who hung up 30 in a "bad" performance and are still looking to bolster their offensive staff. This won't cut it.

the more we see of lamar and this offence the less problem i have with harbs and the offensive staff - except for one crucial problem - i hate the playcaller...

James Urban has done a great job
Greg Roman has done a great job
Tom Hammock has done a great job
Joe D'Allesandris has done a great job

So your saying we hired a bunch of Jeff Fishers and once we get rid of them, we will become the top offense in the league?

So your saying that our coaching staff is Jeff Fisher in disguise and that if we don't get rid of them, we will just be like the Rams before McVay?

I wan't Marty gone. I shouldn't have called out the staff, but I do think we'd see an improvement with a better mind at the helm.

Harbaugh as well.

Someone made a point about Harbaugh not being an offensive or defensive guy, so when a coordinator gets poached it kills our teams identity, and that has stuck with me. Head coaches now are offensive minded with strong systems in place and they know what coordinators to get and they know how to make the system work, when we lose a coordinator everything goes to shit because we don’t have that system. That’s why I think Harbaugh needs to go regardless.

this is what ive been saying for months - but ill freely admit the way harbs has gone about the last 3 weeks etc. with lamar has thrown a spanner into that thinking for me

That’s true, but that problem still lingers. If we fire Marty, which MUST happen, Roman looks to be the perfect replacement, and what happens when he’s poached the following year? Square one. Implement a HC who is all in on a lamar system.

FUCK THAT. For all we know these guys are only seeing the field due to injury. We'd still be losing if not for Hurst and Flacco going down. Had Gus this whole time and what was he doing? Get him Harbaugh out of here. We have a lot of new pieces coming in and would like a fresh mind coaching them up.

Harbaugh as well.
The rest of the staff, even Bobby Engram, is fine.

The playcaller is terrible.

Harbaugh is the main issue for me. This season really has been a season where we have clearly had the talent to be a top seed in the conference, but thanks to the stupidity of the coaching staff... We have been held back big time.

-Roman is literally the perfect OC for Flacco and Lamar alike. Both favor TEs, both mix in deep throws. Both rely heavily on a run game. Nope. Harbaugh keeps his bff.
-This WR corps lives, breathes, and dies over the middle. Nope. Let's horribly misuse each of them, and not use them to compliment each other outside of a couple of games
-Hey guys, Lamar and Flacco respectively have two of the stronger arms in the league... Are we going to go deep with either of them consistently? Nope... Okay?
-Hey guys, we drafted two athletic, surehanded TEs, who compliment each other perfectly, and would fit the offense for both Flacco and Lamar well... Are we ever going to consistently get either involved in the passing game? No? How about in play action with Lamar to burn defenses? No. How about to consistently stretch and attack the seam. *Marty goes full Marty*.. GODDAMNIT
-Hey we drafted two, young, very intelligent, offensive linemen who were good fits for the scheme, and could be day one starters, and replace two of the worst starters on the oline. Harbaugh: HOW DARE YOU PATRONIZE JAMES HURST LIKE THAT. THOSE TWO ARE ROOKIES. PIT OF MISERY WITH YOU.
-Oh look, Bozeman and Brown get significant playing time and the run game improves tenfold..... You mean, you're probably going to start Hurst at RT again and bench Brown even though there are points where he's dominant?
-Hey, last year we drafted this super athletic LB who could solve our coverage woes and be a deadly blitzer out of the 4-3. You want to put him as an edge rusher...
-So we drafted a UCLA LB who's raw, but is coachable, who could also solve our coverage woes and allow us to switch to a 4-3. Want to rotate him heavily even though he should be the full time starter? No... Okay

We got a glimpse of what the run game would be like if Flacco started when RG3 filled in for Lamar .
It wasn’t pretty .
Thus , you really have to start Lamar and pound the ball all game .
If we get behind substantially, go with Joe and his big arm
This should be the strategy from here on .
This is assuming Joe is healthy .

Yes I mentioned something like that a few weeks ago

RG3 can run the rpo as he has done it with success in Washington, but he obviously hasn’t had the reps that Lamar has had over the last few weeks. RG3 also is more of a straight line speed guy. He doesn’t have the quicks lamar has.

What do you mean it wasnt pretty? That was a 7+ minute drive that made it a 2 score game and basically allowed the defense to get REALLY aggressive leading to the defensive score. RG3 did fine out there especially coming in cold.

Early in the season, I know we were joking and being sarcastic saying the season was over with the close losses. However, I seriously believed our season was over after the Steelers lost. The only way I'll change my mind is we clinch a playoff spot. Since the Bengals game, the only thing I care about now is the development and progression of Lamar. Will I get hyped if we made the playoffs? You damn right I would. However, as you pointed out, this means another year of incompetence from M***y. Hard pass! No thanks!
