Article: Crap Speculation. Kap to the RAVENS

Again the question is, are the interception a fault of Mallet or a positive on our secondary?
I guess, as others pointed out, that it could be he just had that one really bad practice day and tossed a bunch of INT's. Hopefully, he cleans that up AND our secondary is going to be unbelievable this season ;)

Colts just announced that Luck will be out till Week 6. Have fun with the Kap wars, Indianapolis :D

A few days ago I was against it but now; sign Kap already!

Although I haven't come around yet, I do understand he is better than many backup qbs in the league, especially the qbs we recently signed.
Living in the dc area, I occasionally turn on sports talk 980. Chris Cooley was talking about Colin Kaepernick and many were calling in saying how th skins should pick up Kaepernick. Lol. Anyway, he said that Kaepernick has been working with Kurt Warner this offseason in an attempt to improve his mechanics.

So are you guys still going with " kap is not signed cause he is trash" ? Even after ozzie and harbaugh wants to sign him but steve doesnt. I dont blame steve though, its a tough move that couldpossibly hurt his org

Its not - Ozzie and John want him, but Steve doesnt.

It's a - even though the media and fans are wildly speculating, there is absolutely ZERO reason for us to bring in another QB until we KNOW Joe is definitely going to miss games. GAMES. as in multiple, and alot.

Since it was just reported today that hes feeling much better already and the arrow is pointing way up.... theres no reason to entertain bringing in anything other than someone to sling some balls to the practice squad. If that changes and Joe's suddenly not going to be available the 1st four weeks and we still dont bring in Kap??? Then you can start your conspiracy theories.

But we may need a C, RT, RB, CB, MLB, or DL... certainly C or RT. And we have the space to make maybe 1 really meaningful signing. Why would you spend that on Kap when youre still expecting Joe to play every game? Is it really worth upgrading your backup QB who may never play when you dont even know if you have a starting caliber C on the team?

Andrew Brandt made a really good point- as long as Kaep cuts back on the protests being so open and public in execution, Kaep being unsigned is a bigger story than him being signed.

The Ravens, outside of having Tyrod (who has actually looked like he would have filled in fine) have always wanted a good insurance policy and didn't mind paying for it to have behind Flacco. Marc Bulger for several years, Matt Schaub, and now Ryan Mallett.

I know fans don't put a huge emphasis on the backup because we assume Joe will start every game (which is probably safe), but the Ravens seem to care a lot.

I know they care, but it seems theyre clearly satisfied with Mallet as backup, so long as hes only the backup.

They gave him $1m guaranteed this offseason. I cant see them having done that so quickly if they were at all unsure of him being their backup.

Now, if he has to be a starter for us for any prolonged period of time, then i think theyll want competition for him to start and at least a better backup option than Vaughn.... but until that happens im almost certain we wont do anything.

And that's what's baffling to me. Why would they be?

This is an article from thr Ravens front office in response to a statement from ESPN ....

I remember reading an article that was about how Steve almost sold the team after we missed the field goal in the AFC championship vs the Pats. He talked about how big of an emotional let down it was and it drained him. I can only imagine what's going through his mind now with everything that's being said about the Ravens franchise. He also went through a lot with Ray Rice. I worry that all this would make him want to sell. Maybe I'm overreacting but just imagine what's going on through his head right now

So serious question: If Tim Tebow wasn't playing baseball, and played QB in the NFL. Would teams sign him with the media circus he brings or Kaep knowing he would bring a media circus as well?

Kap is better than Tebow, so I doubt it.

Because almost any team in the NFL that has to play their backup is already screwed.

There arent 32 starters that can win games in this league.... if you dont have a recently drafted backup, you got no shot that your backup can actually win you games. Maybe they can manage the thing for a game or 2 so the ship doesnt sink - but thats the best you can hope for.

And Mallett proved that he can walk into a game against Pittsburgh with a cast of backups and pull out a win. That holds water. It may not always look pretty in practice, but what he did was no easy task.

He took a ragged group of scrubs and played week after week to 1 score games. So, they feel he can at least manage the game well enough to give the D a chance to win. And quite frankly, that may have to be the recipe.

Its far more important to put the best possible team around Flacco, and then ride or die with that. Getting caught up in this backup stuff is pointless to me.

I wonder if the Dolphins will be interested in Kaep, now that Tannehill got injured today. Reports are that his left knee buckled and he went down and had to be helped off the field by the trainers. He was taken for a MRI, but the results are pending.

I have heard rumors that the Dolphins are interested in Kaepernick, regardless of the injury.

Well Kaep's girlfriend may have burned the bridge to the Ravens. She tweeted that Biscotti was a racist and Ray Lewis was an Uncle Tom. Also the Dolphins could be a hard sell after the Castro t-shirt with Miami having a pretty big Cuban population. It also looks like Tannehill has no structural damage in his knee.

Yeah I just read that on this website:

I would be seriously upset with her if I was Kaep!
