(Never) Too Early Prospect Watch

Name a prospect that, based on their position, should infuriate the shit out of you if we chose them, but their talent leaves you excited anyway.

For me, Bradley Chubb. Likely a 5T, maybe we need a 5T because I'm sure Urban is gone and I have little faith in kaufusi and I'm far from sold on wormley, and even if either of them reach their ceiling I think Chubb is a monster that this defense simply does not have, on a defense that(jet lag accounted for) may be the best in the league, Chubb would make a massive difference.
Probably Vita Vea because why the hell would we pick another DT, but at the same time he's got overwhelming talent and absurd strength.

One guy I'd keep an eye on as a potential project to developp behind Flacco is Jarett Stidham. He doesn't really impress me right now but he has some big time talent and could be available in the 3rd round.

At this rate i dont think anyone will even develop behind Flacco. We might need a guy who can come in and compete incase flaccos struggles become a trend

There's 2 trains of thought...
one says Ozzie would never sell the farm for any prospect.

The other says he learned from past mistakes and won't waste a great defense.

So if the time comes to replace joe sooner than anticipated, this defense is gonna have to be every bit as good as advertised, and then it will probably take some OL building, and THEN we would sell the farm for a qb. Otherwise we would probably sit back and be patient for a qb

Is Bryce love coming out next year's draft? If we don't get saquon barkley, he's my next target

Without question, the OL MUST be addressed this offseason one way or another. Maybe Woodrum is still that dude (I somewhat jk lol)?

Nobody will know until the season ends. Hes got the speed but not much else. He isnt a bell cow but i guess thats not what we need. Also really like Rashaad Penny. Hes vastly underrated and could become a David Johnson type player

Ya its tough....well have to see how joe plays the rest of the year to see if this is a legitamate issue. If so we could be looking at a rebuilding process. His contract would then be a major issue. If we draft Saquon Barkley though then it wont matter whos in at qb lol.

Charlie Campbell's latest mock had us going quenton Nelson and in the second we took the LT from OSU(can't remember his name).

I'd shit my pants if I saw Ozzie address needs so aggressively

Is the LT from OSU good?
Jamarco Jones? He's an ideal fit at RT. But I'd still rather take the route of signing Norwell/Mewhort and then taking Nelson anyway and maybe finding a RT in the middle rounds. We need to heavily invest on the line if we want any chance of being good again.

As a RT I really like Mitch Hyatt. Hes not talked about much but he was highly recruited.

Ever think our Oline might not be as bad as we think beginning next year? I mean is Howard really gonna be a one year rental? I think we can take a Gaurd high so he can compete with Lewis and Siragusa for LG then the losers provide depth.

Id really like us to get so offensive weapons this year. Like a Bryce Love, Rashaad Penny, Deonte Pettis, Christian Kirk, Jaylen Samuels. All those guys bring some kind of dynamic to an nfl offense or special teams

I totally agree. Problem is we have some needs besides QB. Even on defense I'd say LB is an underrated need, and S could be in talk. On offense we need an OL but we wouldn't mind a TE or a WR and certainly not a true lead back.

I'd be happy with that selection. Now this LT you speak of, is that the only place he can play on the line?

He's being labeled as a RT projection in the mock, which is great to me because Stanley is a prototype LT and doesn't belong anywhere else as far as I'm concerned

Yes that's his name. Haven't watched him yet but I'll get around to it.

I'm not a fan of Jones tbh. He looks raw and like he has short arms. I think there are a lot of better options at RT in this class if we want to go this way.
